"Surf's Up" Blu-ray...Worth buying?

I saw a whole bunch of Blu-ray copies of "Surf's Up" at Hastings Entertainment Store for $14.99. And if anyone has the movie, could you tell me if it was any good, and if it would be worth adding to my collection? Thanks!

Yeah, it's a funny/cute film with excellent animation/PQ. I'd put it a few notches above TMNT but below Ratatouille. I certainly can't imagine anyone hating it.

Loved the movie, Surf's Up. I say grab it. Totally blew the other penguin movie out of the water--Happy Feet...now that movie blew.

Worth watching. Good plot and excellent CGI.

Isn't it funny how some people DETEST CGI effects, but love CGI movies?

Movie is great! I mean it isnt a Pixar movie but It is a great movie. Amazing PQ and great story. Its done in documentary type style. My 3 year old daughter loves it as well so I have watched it about 100 times!

Just the extra added feature on the technology behind the 3D camera work is worth the price the movie is great. my nephews and nieces love em

Bought it on release day, fun movie...the CGI isn't perfectly "clean" because they used a little bit of grain to create the "documentary feel" of the movie. But the animation's great.

Great movie! Awesomely done. But I see here that some people didn't understand that the grain was there because it was done to be like a documentary... If you want a "clean" animation movie, look at Ratatouille, Cars, Chicken Little or Meet The Robinsons. This one isn't supposed to be clean, it's supposed to be a documentary.

Anyway, great audio, great picture quality, great fun, highly recommended.

I'm surprised that every reply so far has been in favor of the film! I am not going to change that, because I really liked the movie, and I think it is worth purchasing for that price. The only downside of the film is that it's not very long; I think it was around an hour and ten minutes.

Yes i have it on blu-ray and in my opinion its a very good movie. Its fun and funny and even one scene where they go over the top for a kind of kids movie.....you will know it when u see it lol... the PQ is amazing of course most animated films are....and if u can get it for 14.99$ pick that up for sure...really if someone watches that movie and doesn't like it theres something wrong.....in my opinion...I haven't watched any of the special features but there is a decent amount...

Surf's Up is well put together, both in story and production value. I actually did like the fine grain that they added. It gave the picture more realism and made it feel less "plastic".

The creators were dead-on in architecting the documentary feel of the movie. There's even a featurette showing how they simulated documentary-style camera work and it's actually quite fascinating!
