Okay - I made yet another one of my infamous typos (which I fixed, by they way!). I wrote Mel Brooks, but I meant Mel Gibson. So what. Wanna make something out of it?

I still think that for of movie of this caliber, there is way too many boobs, nipples and butt cheeks.

I watched all four SAW movies and there is nothing that comes close. Even ET - the Extra Terrestrial -- who is mostly nude -- never shows his butt cheeks!

The only other film that shows a massive butt cheek is I Robot when Will Smith takes his one and only shower.

Anyway, Apolcalypto is still playing so I wanna get back to it. They just got to the Mayan Temple. Oh my... the gore that comes next!

the comparisons you make are beyond ridiculous. i can't even fathom how your mind works! how do you compare apocalpyto, a movie about native tribespeople, to SAW???!!??! how does saw relate? how. how. how. how. in no WAY does it relate. why would there be nudity like in apocalypto in saw!

No, we Americans cling too tightly to our Puritan roots and are immaturely squeamish around the human body. Because of our long history of shunning certain areas of our bodies, it has only served to heighten our titillation (no pun) when these areas are revealed, and an entire industry was born - selling flesh by the pound.

I think the average American (and even more so in certain areas of the country *cough* Bible Belt *cough* Bible Belt ) would be HORRIFIED if exposed to the SHOCKING images from around the entire frikken planet of an entire FAMILY going to the beach. This means every one from Grandma and Grandpa, down to little Sally and Billy are often COMPLETELY NUDE.

Much of the rest of the world outside of North America has a very different view of human bodies and nudity in general. The body isn't as over sexualized, and nobody gets sensory overload from seeing too many "Butt Cheeks".

Before you respond to my post in disbelief or anger, take a moment to try think of WHAT you think of nudity and the body - and more importantly - try to remember who told/taught/trained you to feel that way.

We are a product of those around us.

One family told their children their body was "naughty" and should be covered at all times.

Another family told their children - "It's your body, it's the only thing you really possess in this life. Why in the world should you feel shame?"

Is one family Right? Is one family Wrong?

I'm not saying I'm keen to see my Grandmother naked by any stretch. I'm just saying: So why are we the only animals to wear excess coverings for no purposeful reason?

I've been watching "Living with the Mek: The adventures of Mark and Ollie". At first the nudity was a little unusual to see on TV. After a handful of episodes... I have to wonder what our modern (and oh-so-much-more-"advanced") societies would be like if we all could get over the fact that another human being wasn't wearing clothes.

Why if we are so smart and "advanced", do people still make such a fuss over one of the most human and natural situations on the face of the planet - namely - a mother feeding her child from her own breasts... in public?

Heads up people *psst* - it's why women HAVE breasts!!! The revulsion I've seen in other people's eyes when they see a woman feeding her baby is flat-out ridiculous to me, and is yet another example of our silly and LEARNED behavior of shame of the body.

It's silly, pathetic, and sad.

Done ranting... sorry folks - it's something I feel inordinately passionate about for some reason... Must be the Biologist in me...

So bring on the non-sexual nudity... maybe someday we'll break out of this shell and join the rest of enlightened society.
