Oh, one other thing..... you may be able to tell if it's the 605 not being able to keep up by disconnecting everything except the towers and playing something in 2ch stereo. It'll allow the towers to get a bigger piece of the "power pie" so to speak and should sound better.

when you're referring to separates...what does that include? Amp and a processor? If so, what do I need to get these puppies running the way theyre supposed to. Model/brand rrcommendations with a price would be great. I really dont want to break the bank...so I dont need the top of the line, but something that will get the job done....I need bmw...NOT an Aston Martin thanks a bunch guys!

Separates means a processor and amplifier yes. You can use a receiver as the pre-processor if it has pre-outs (which the 605 does not).

This means you have a few options:
- You could get a receiver that has pre-outs (Onkyo 705 and up for example). Then an amplifier. You also have to decide how many channels this amp will be.
You could get a 2 channel amp to power your LSi25's. Then power the rest of your speakers with the receiver. That's probably your cheapest option. Or you could get a 5-7 channel amp and power all your speakers off one or more amps.

- You could get a pre-processor and amplifier. This situation requires you to have a 5-7 channel amp (or any combination as long as you have enough amp channels to power all your speakers).

Depending on how much you want to spend there are a lot of options.
Emotiva makes some very nice pre-processors. They also have 2 brand new amps out. The XPA-5 (5 channel amp out now) and XPA-2 (2 channel amp to be released mid april). Both retail for $799.
I think those give very good value for the money. There are cheaper ones out there.

I hope that all made sense. I'm pretty bad at explaining things.

Ouch....well after thinking about it...I think i'm just going to upgrade to at least an 805 for now. Doing the separates is just far more money than I want to spend, especially with the baby coming now! Definately later though I'll pickup separates to make these guys sound even better. Thanks for the advice everyone!

After reading this whole thread, and not boring you to death with the reasons. This seems like the best idea for you and your scenario.

Go with the 805. In the meantime, either unhook your speakers or don't play them loudly.

Hey congrats on the baby! Don't worry the LSi25's will sound 100 times better on the 805. You also have the ability to upgrade to separates in the future if need be. Good luck dude.

Ugh...my girl is going to kill me when she sees that I get my Onkyo 805 today....ordered it yesterday, overnight delivery can't wait to get home and see how much of a difference it makes in sound. Now I have heard the the 805 runs MUCH hotter than the other models...is that true? I have a stand with doors on it...so I'm a little worried about it overheating...I might have to put fans in the back of it or something.

The 805 manual should have recommended clearance distances. (top clearance, side clearance, etc.) As long as you do the bare minimum, you should be OK. Anything you can do to go above + beyond those minimums can only help.

The manual recommends 8 inches above and 4 inches behind the receiver of clear space. I tried various heights and found that 8 inches is overdoing it a bit, I settled on about 5.5 inches above and lots of open room behind (6 inches or so). I have no door on my cabinet.
As far as how hot it gets, mine usually runs at about 50 Celsius after going for a few hours, it may peak at about 55, but normal running temp is about 50.
There are 2 internal fans on the 805, and I have never had them come on, not even on low before.

When you get your 805, try it in your cabinet and monitor the temperature by using these steps:

Good luck!
