However if want to record it - sorry not even Blu ray can do that a Googlebyte disc would struggle to fit all the FUD on, then again "we could always lower the bit rate" - should almost fit onto a HD-DVD.
Don't put it past 'em.

2007 International CES Session : Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD: And the Winner Is . . .
He must have squeezed in at the last minute or after they published the list. He's definitely not listed in the original published line-up on the CES website. See page 20 on the pamphlet (see link)...

Panel: Consumers will have to choose
FROM CES: High-def rivals agree that no agreement is in sight

Any guesses as to who said this?
Quote:
“You can wish it will go away, but I’m here to make sure it doesn’t go away,” he said.

I'll leave my comments on that in the sewer where they belong.
However I will say that my resolve in BD has never been stronger. I don't care if BD dies I will never support that schlock format...

Funny how it isn't about HD DVD winning, or HD DVD succeeding. It's now all about HD DVD hanging on and merely existing.

And throw in a threat from MS. Gates already told everyone what their goal here is: Domination of digital content delivery in all forms.

I think Sony and Apple should team up to bring iTV support to the PS/3.

I agree with Nickerson:

Quote:
the tipping point “winds up being something that couldn’t be projected because if you can project it, you can affect it.”
And that factor is the Osborne affect Toshiba has caused with the A20 and 51GB discs. The player sales will dry up among all those wanting HD DVD. And the Spring numbers will be interpretted as a stunning collapse by HD DVD due to BD title announcements.

We already see people saying they'll delay A2 purchases for A20. Now the word about 50GB needs to get out, along with no clear indication of whether the players will support it.

Parson's is right... "It's the content stupid".

It's the main reason I'm still twildling my thumbs.... waiting for Hollywood to go "day and date" with DVD. I'll be damned to spend thousands of dollars on HW just to see every knucklehead with a $50 dollar DVD player and a Blockbuster video rental watch new releases while I have to sit and wait for the HD version.

If I am paying a "firstclass fare", I at least expect to get there the same time as "coach" does... not months later.

Amir's comment sickens me. I know MS's big thing is to keep HD-DVD alive to make the war a stalemate, so that neither are a success and people will move to downloads with VC-1 Videos, but screw him. Pathetic MS foolary once again.

Perhaps in the later part of the year, the BD exclusive studios can even up the anticipation of a movie release: release the BD version two-four weeks in advance of DVD/VHS. That'll make people notice. It's been done before by Warner, I think, but with DVD.
