but wondering are you still going to watch it or not? because yes they showed a lot of the movie in the trailers, but i am sure there are still sequences you would like to watch that isn't in the trailer.

I was just having this discussion the other day with my girlfriend. She bought me I-Robot on Blu-ray (and 3 other blu's...keeper I know) and we were talking about how much the trailer spoils the surprise of the movie.
If you haven't seen it *SPOLIERS AHEAD* If you saw the trailer before the movie, you know what I'm talking about. I mean we all know that some sort of action is going to break out and the robots are probably going to go bad...but the way it's presented in the movie is just great. They build it up perfectly then finally the big scene comes where he's sleeping in his car and the huge robot transport slowly opens and starts to attack. It's a great effect when you first see their lights go red. The trailer for the movie shows loads of scenes with the evil red light robots wrecking everything which spoils a very creepy build up during the movie. All in all it's a great movie, I just wish I'd skipped the trailer! Last edited by halflife26; 04-15-2008 at 12:27 PM. |

If you ask me they run the trailers WAY too early for one thing. I remember seeing the first Spider-man trailer in the theater nearly a year before the movie was released! Your anticipation peaks then fades as you get tired of waiting.
Now that I've seen some of the best clips of Iron Man in the trailers I am not as anxious to see it. But I will. I hope the big screen makes up for the spoilers. When I saw War of the Worlds with Tom "couch jumper" Cruise I somehow missed all the trailers and commercials for this one. So when I watched it on DVD I was blown away. Say what you will of the movie, it was nearly a perfect 5 in my book. I believe not having seen spoilers is what gave it such impact. |

I like the teaser trailer for Transformers before it was released. It gave you just enough and left you wanting much more. I feel the theatrical trailer after that revealed more than I would've liked, but the eye-candy still had my mouth watering nonetheless. Cloverfield was also a great teaser.

![]() I also look at it this way..... I don't care if the trailer tells the whole story. If it's a good movie I'll remain entertained whether it's my 1st, or 5th time seeing it anyways. |

And then there are the trailers that not only give away the best bits of a film, but is totally deceiving.
*MINOR SPOILERS* The two best examples are Pan's Labyrinth and Bridge to Terabithia. I really liked Pan's Labyrinth but the trailers made it into this epic fantasy movie with fairies and such, when the actual movie was totally different and really, really dark. In fact I think the trailer showed all of the fantasy parts in the entire movie. The same with Bridge to Terabithia. There was probably 10 minutes of fantasy bits in the entire movie, but the trailer made it seem like the whole film would be Chronicles or Narnia-esque. |

I thought the trailer for Notes on a Scandal gave away the whole movie.....also stranger than fiction, the film added nothing to the trailer...also Enchanted.
