I'm a college student of course a big collector of dvds. I was hesitant to go with Blu or HD. Honestly, I thought the war would last a lot longer than it did. Well, Walmart had a secret sale during x-mas. Some of you might remember. Buy a ps3 80gig...get 10- free blu-rays instore. I just couldn't pass it up. Not to mention I got the 5 by mail. So it worked out really well.

I've got about 53 Blu-rays so I'm off to a good start. I'm usually on the dvdtalk forum but for some reason I'm over here more so I figured I'd sign up.

So.....I've found it odd how with HD Dvd out of the picture, that people are still not jumping on the side of Blu. I'm constantly asking people if they have a have a BD player. Not many do. I'm a computer major and not one person has a ps3. So I have no one to talk "blu" with. Anyone else have this dilemma? Most say it's too expensive etc. I think the main reason is not many people want to fork over a grand plus for an hd tv. Primarily why dvd was such a hit. You didn't need to upgrade your tv.

I've noticed that most blu-rays drop $10 or so within a month. Independence Day I forked $30 for and I believe target has it for $20. 20th Century Fox seems to be the worst with Blu-ray releases. Bare-bones BD's are just no excuse especially with all that extra room. Cough .... KOH

I picked up Starship Troopers and the Island from the Amazon.uk site. They look great! I guess I'm like everyone else...waiting for Paramount to get their head out of their ass and start putting some titles back on the shelves. I know Face Off is sitting in storage somewhere. Sweeny Todd....TWBB. I'm also curious why The Good The Bad and The Ugly hasn't been announced. By far one of the greatest films. Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More have been announced but the TGTBATU.

Blu has really taken me in. I'm sure it's the same for everyone else. I just refuse to buy dvd's anymore. I'll admit it, American Gangster was the and probably will be the last. I heard the HD didn't have the extended cut which is a shame. I was tempted to get There Will Be Blood but that horrible packaging didn't win me over. Oh well...just my .02 .
