I really really regret getting the two pack because of this. I was really hoping for a better transfer and at the very least a digital download.
Now that it's the exact same as the previous release, I am really annoyed.

Right, just like the previously released BD.

The unrated version is on the disc.

Thank god! You guys had me tripping balls as I already sold off my original AVP... not bad for a $8 upgrade!

Now I just hope I don't get ripped off on the code.

As what was already posted, the one featured in the double pack is identical to the previous release, the Unrated version is on the disc via branching.

The first double dips for HDM have been from Warner Bros. actually.

sry for the idiot question--what is branching? From another menu? A special feature? Getting my 2-pack in the mail soon and want to understand. Hope that serial #'s in there!

I'm sorry, I inferred that you were saying that the first AVP is NOT the unrated version. It is. But you are certainly correct in saying that there is no digital download with it. My bad for misinterpreting your post.

Then someone should correct Wiki that knows whet they are talking about as it can be a useful tool when it's edited properly

It's a method used to provide more than one version of a movie on a disc without having to include the full movie for each version on the disc.

Edit: It'll be transparent to you. You choose the version you want at the beginning (or sometimes from the main menu) and then it should seem just like any other movie (i.e. you shouldn't notice the branching).

thx owa--so is it one of those "leave the main movie to see the unrated stuff?" And an alert lets you know? If not, how do you watch a branching unrated AVP1? Man I sound dumb!

For AVP 2, it'll ask you at the beginning if you want to see the rated version or the unrated.

For AVP 1, I don't think we get the unrated version but I'll have to double-check that to be sure. I was wrong, it includes both as well.

Edit: Actually, looking at the back cover it says AVP 1 includes the rated and unrated. Hold on and I'll check to see how you select that.

no it's seamlessly integrated. When you pop in the disc it asks you whether you want to see the unrated cut or the theatrical cut right off the bat and if you choose unrated it seamlessly (hence the name) inserts the extra scenes into the movie.

Yeah, as he said, it's a choice at the beginning in AVP 1 as well.

I never buy a blu-ray that is shrink wrapped. Sounds like someone opened it and then resealed it probably just to get the code to watch a freebie...

Also there was a post about the the disc being DVD. That is for the download to iTunes. Disc 1 is the blu-ray and Disc 2 is the digital copy DVD to download to iTunes. I think people jump the gun too fast sometimes before they know what they are talking about.

Did anyone catch on the AVP2 extras that they will create an Alien world for the next movie. I watched the clip about the Predator home world and that is where they mention the Alien home world in the next movie. That would be sweet... I think AVP2 was a good movie. I know the review on here was not a good one, but I thought it was good. Can't wait for all the Alien movies and Predator 2 on blu-ray.... DTS-HD rocks big time.
