My girlfriend knows how to change between the digital in and mutil channel in analog inputs when she wants to listen to my SACDs so there's no way she'll be fooled into thinking we're watching an upconverted DVD. She knows when it's HD.

Default new to the site

I've had my PS3 since launch and currently own 6 BD's. I love all the info that comes from this site and figured i'd join. The line up thats to come this year is incredible. I still haven't gotten my hands on Crank yet but ima looking, seem to be out of stock everywhere i go. Hmmmm... PS3 is a great value and i wouldn't have bought it when i did if i wasn't gung ho for Blu-Ray being not enough games out yet.

Figures.

I've been having a hard time finding either 'The Descent' or 'Crank'. I guess BD is getting popular!

I'm a PS3 gamer that currently has 5 BD movies (including the free pack-in) and plan to add plenty more to my collection in the near future.

Given the demographics of PS3 owners anyone who suggests that a significant portion won't use their units to watch blockbuster BD movies is smoking crack.

If you're from Canada it's because you have to find someone who orders their shipment from the states directly. Futureshop's and BB's have yet to receive Crank and The Descent in Canada. I had to order mine through www.dvd-plus.com it will take about 4 business days.

Actually, both titles were scheduled for release on January 9 from Maple (Lionsgate in Canada). So, it may be a shortage. I finally got my hands on a copy of Terminator 2 the other day for 19.99.

About a week ago or so I read in the WSJ, and I'm paraphrasing: "HD-DVD was outselling BD roughly 2:1 UNTIL the PS3 came out and since then, that gap has been narrowing steadily ever since."

FWIW.
