I just hope that Guillermo Del Toro picks this British favorite for the role of Bilbo Baggins...

Martin Freeman! After seeing him in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" as Arthur Dent, I believe he's a strong contender for the role of Bilbo. Especially since he definitely looks the part and will play it very well! Maybe even better than Elijah Wood's Frodo!

Good choice! I think he would be great. IMO Elijah Wood was a deal breaker for me. After i watched the movies I hated Frodo so much i wanted to strangle him. Basically ruined my memories of the book.

Other then that though i loved the movies

I don't have a link, sorry.
yeah it looks like WETA will be involve considering that del toro is moving to new zealand for 4 years to make them. it will be interesting to see what his vision of the book will be but hopefully with WETA it will have the same feel of LOTR. it would be terrible if the hobbit and the sequel would have completely different visual style. i hope he will have some artistic freedom but it would look dumb if the orcs looked completely different or the elves. at least PJ kept the human sized Bag End, should be able to use that over again.

i have mixed feelings over this.

i thought the LOTR trilogy was near flawless with peter jackson behind the helm.

I will most definitely be going out to the theatres to catch these two films, but still. i'll have to wait and see about this...

?

unless you're talking about his spanish-language movies, you're definitely thinking of someone else.

del toro brought us hellboy among other things.

Post Guillermo del Toro wants original LOTR cast back for "The Hobbit"...

I just saw an article pertaining to Guillermo Del Toro's upcoming "The Hobbit", and on the article, Del Toro -- simply put -- hopes to bring the original cast back for "The Hobbit". What do you guys think? Can they do it again?

Are there any other actors known to be reprising roles from LOTR? I'm not as familiar with the storyline as many so I don't know which characters should appear in the Hobbit and who shouldn't.
