Thanks for the advice, fellas - I'm going to start continuing my research onto these other speaker brands.

Upgrade your audio. Speaker prices remain relatively stagnant. Tv prices fall within a few months and will continue to tumble.

However, I personally would look at other options than Onkyo for a receiver. Build quality leaves alot to be desired IMO, and they have heat management problems. You can literally raise the temperature several degrees with an Onkyo receiver. Marantz or Denon would be much better choices. If you can swing it, seperates would be even better.

Always audition speakers before you purchase them. A few of the speakers recommended are Internet Direct (ID). ID is a great bang for the buck, but auditioning is a pain when you have to ship things back and forth if you don't like them etc. Go to a local hifi shop and sample their wares.

i've heard good things about those online brands....opted for klipsch due to stores showcasing what they can do.....reference series is awesome....either way im sure you'll be happy with the upgrade..

do audio now...but try to get a new TV on your next upgrade...

even if you have to wait a little longer to afford something sensible, I'd do whatever it takes to get your viewing experience upgraded..
