Welcome to the forum. Your PS3 is forward compatible, so there are no worries about "future" releases.

Also, regardless of the discount you get, monoprice has the best value in HDMI cables. Monster is a brand name, nothing more.

Well, I went on the monoprice site for the HDMI cable and i have to give it to you, prices are cheap. The problem with me is that I buy brand name like Monster or logitech for my laptop and Samsung for my tv. I wouldn't buy something that haven't make their proof but I'm willing to sacrifice a 20$ to try it on monoprice for the HDMI. Can't wait to see the shipping cost for Canada. On the other hand for the Circuit City ad, i still didn't find it over their website, maybe it is just a promotion for people in the US, since I am not I can order the remote for the PS3 online and have a 5$ rebate.

I'm pretty new to this forum and to blu-ray and I appreciate the help coming from you guys and I can't wait for next friday, spending over 675$.

Your best friend will become the Hot Deals section of this forum. It's put me back a few hundred this month because of all the 2 for 30 sales at Best Buy. There's also a good trade forum if you blind buy a movie you can't stand you can trade it for something you do like.

Hope you enjoy your purchase!! It's worth it! In fact in about 30 minutes when game stop opens, going to go pick up some game, because I am going insane with no games to play since I beat the last one I was working on.

hello all, I'm also new to the forum but I have been reading it for awhile now. I used your info on how to change out the harddrive on my ps3 and it worked just great. thanks for all the info.

Monoprice has some good prices but I was able to get my HDMI cable from an ebay store for $0.01 both times and and they work great.

OK, this is OT, but question:

I am new. I posted a new topic/question in this forum on Saturday. The post has to get approved by a moderator, but it has yet to show up 2 days later. Can any mods assist with getting it posted?

Thanks.

DO NOT SPEND $69 ON A MONSTER CABLE! It's a rip off. You can get a perfectly good HDMI 3 meters long at Wal-Mart.com for $20. Or better yet some people have posted other HDMI cables for under $20. The whole "Monster" cable thing is a sham.
But anyway congrats on going Blu! I just went Blu about a month ago and I am a Blu-ray Junkie! It's freaking awesome! Can't wait for Signs and There Will be Blood on JUn. 3!

The remot is a nice option and at about $25 it's also affordable. I have it and it works great, especially for movie watching.

Thumbs up Finally got it!

I'm back guys and i finally bought my PS3 40GB edition because here in Canada it was pretty hard to get the 80GB. Still i don't think i'm gonna use the full 40gb anyway.

The only game i bought for now is COD4 ( call of duty 4 ) because this game is, well, uhmm, when i play i can't stop. My PSN ID : TyCarter

I also bought 2 blu-ray movies : Rambo and Narnia. Two excellents movies even though i don't have a home cinema right now.

It cost me 800$ canadian dollars with an extra controllers + hdmi cable and a extra set of USB cable. It seems, for now, to be a really good investment.

See y'all later guys
