It's just unbelievable to me how far customer service quality has fallen in the past 10 years.
Just out of curiousity, what is your grievance? You have to show damages to have a leg to stand on in court, you can't just sue because you weren't treated as "you" feel you should have been, so the use of a lawyer at this point in the process seems rather over-the-top.

I do agree that you have an issue with them, and need to contact them, but a lawyer?? really?

There use to be a website called bestbuysux.org - had all kinds of stories like these from the past ten years. Great site and interesting reading! But unfortunetly, the site no longer works.

I'm not suing...he will articulate what happened much better than I will (he is also my brother-in-law). From what I understand bullying and threatening a person with calling the cops when they did no wrong is against the law...at this point it's not a matter of being over the top. This is something that has happened to more people than just me. At one point BB used to pull the ol' bait and switch on their website and in the store and got sued. It all started like this. Why not do some digging to see how wide spread of a practice this is.

If you were a tier I rep and got a call from someones lawyer how quickly would you transfer them up the ladder? Most consumers don't have the know how or means to push back against companies...so why not if you can. Maybe if most consumers stop letting these companies bully them and treat them like trash we can get back ...customer service, as opposed to being treated as if the company can survive without our money. So in theory I am trying to help you...hope that helps explain my over the top behavior (great movie).

Actually responding with a lawyer doesn't really get you much further. It tends to get you directly to the legal dept of most companies rather than an executive. Trust me when I tell you companies have more time, resources, and lawyers than the average consumer. Unless your seriously going to pursue legal recourse with your actions I would suggest writing the letter yourself.

While his name is fishy, he is partially right.
I work for CC and had a guy threaten legal action because of his own fault on a dvd player. Dropped it and 6 months later wanted me to give him a new one. yeah, not happening. So he threatens to take CC and me to court. Ironically enough a person from the district attorneys office was next in line. Plopped his card, name badge and whatever else he could to ID himself, and told him this. CC has a whole legal dept just sitting at their desks waiting for someone like you to do so. The company has more money and man power (IE: lawyers) than you can imagine. And if he were to win, he would still owe out the rear with legal bills, and told the customer to just accept the loss.

And its true, unless you got some serious artillery.....dont take a corporation to court. In no way does this mean I condone the actions alot of stores do. But think before you threaten.
