You are correct but the EE is high frequency and not as distracting as DNR.

Anyone know how the extras of the USA release compare to the HD DVD release. Of the scant info I can find it seems as though the Blu-ray is missing the "Light and the Dark" Documentary and one of the commentaries?

Please say it isnt so. Can anyone that has the USA release comment on the special features?

Yes, we do have hills like that I live in San Pedro. We often have movie sets and filmakers making their movies. I saw when they were filming the first POTC of the the Pedro Bay I remember PrimaryColors (Travolta's) an episode of Boston Public and that's just on top of my head.

Yeah, they seemed to really like it.

I'm a little skeptical about choosing it, with lossy audio, over the import though.

Got mine today. One of the better transfers I have seen so far, that is not a Disney title. For an older movie.

I forgot how cool some of it was.

yeah I just ordered the import one from jwbbudd cause wicky and some other people said it was better audio/pq then the new one

the slip cover doesnt look as good but oh well!

Definitely better PQ but SQ on the import is more or less the same as the domestic edition.

The pq is great. Not the best, but a strong 8.5 out of 10. Great sq also. I remember this was one of the very first Paramount titles released on dvd along with Star Trek:First Contact. This blu ray greatly surpasses that initial offering.
