The TX-NR905's network gives you access to digital music files (AAC,WMA,
MP3,WAV) via an Ethernet network between the TX-NR905 and your
computer. It also enables you to access music files from a USB mass storage
device or a portable audio player through the USB port on the TX-NR905’s
front panel. At the heart of the network is Windows Media Connect or
Windows Media Player (the TX-NR905 is Microsoft PlaysForSure certified), which
enable the TX-NR905 to play DRM music downloads from Napster and CDquality
files from MusicGiants. For internet radio, you can access
stations that use MP3 or WMA streaming. You can enter URLs
(including those for podcasts) directly into your computer’s web
browser, or you can enter them with your remote control. The
TX-NR905’s user-friendly interface lets you easily access and
store your favorite channels.
*This network also enables installation configuration and set-up of Crestron and AMX controllers
with your home theater system or network.
HQV Reon-VX Chip for High-Performance

I could be wrong I wish I could say but I've been waiting since April for the beast. They must have horse and buggie delivery from the states. I think the better deal is the 905 in my case anyway if it ever gets here
Yeah, it could be, on Onkyo's site it doesnt list the playsforsure under the 905 "features". We carry Integra, and I have had to do A-B on the 905 vs. the 8.8. For the Onkyo, the resource I used was Onkyo's site.

They are alarmingly similar. They even weigh the same I believe.

Since you have the manual handy, does the 905 have the capability to use Audyessy Pro calibration?

I've heard it's an excellent pre/pro for home theater and multichannel music(really the only thing on the market in its category with the new audio codecs), but that its weakness is high quality 2 channel music. Probably not the right choice for a high end stereo only setup.

Nah, it isn't. But for its price tag it shouldnt be expected to be. The new Denon preamp should be a better 2ch pre, but it had better be for 7k.

Yes some do not like the analog section of the 9.8/885, but far as 2ch etc digital it is stellar!

I'm not sure if it's the same Woody ........I can't imagine this being that different. Are the Audyessy Pro Cal the same as the Audyessy MultEQ XT? Anyway I just cut out the part in the manual to me it's all new all I ever had was 2 channel

Measurement Positions
To create a listening environment in which several
people can enjoy your home theater simultaneously,
Audyssey MultEQ XT takes measurements at up to eight
positions within the listening area.

1st measurement position
This is the center position of your listening area, or
the listening position if there’s only one listener.

2nd–8th measurement positions
These are the other listening positions (i.e., the
places where the other listeners will sit). You can
measure up to eight positions.
The following examples show some typical home theater
seating arrangements. Choose the one that best matches
yours, and position the microphone
