I held out on the steel book version that came out only because i expected it to come to blu-ray sometime soon, and now that it's finally is. Glad i waited. I had too many copies of the original texas chainsaw massacre but some of the copies I only got cause they came free with another movie. Even if I Have too many copies of one movie, i'm not gonna reject another free copy...

The SQ to be good is essential for this to rock. Moreso than the picture in my opinon. Hoping for lossless and to hear those screams followed by a chainsaw chasing you all night. Oh man.....

Looks good. I've never seen the original, only the remake which I did like. Not too interested in this movie in blu, but I would love to see the Friday The 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street series in Blu-Ray.

That cover art is cool it would be even better if it was the art work from the original poster. Anyway this will be good to add to the shining and halloween I have on blu

New Line and Paramount would be remiss if they did not release at least one Friday the 13th movie around the time that the next Friday movie comes out (Feb 13 09).
Paramount has 1-8, New Line has 9,X,FvJ. I assume some kind of deal was worked out for the new movie as New Line has the rights to make the movie, but Paramount has the rights to the name Friday the 13th.

[Show spoiler]the bad leg brace and the remotes that controled it uugggh only good part of that movie was R. Lee Ermey.

R. Lee Ermey wasn't in TCM: Next Generation, he was in the 2003 remake.

I think that on Halloween I will stay up and watch Blu horror movies all night long. The only catch, of course, will be picking which ones to watch!

I liked the 2003 remake with R. Lee Ermey. Pretty decent as a horror flick, nicely shot, brutal movie. Honestly I never thought the original was that intense, although that chase through the woods with the chainsaw was pretty terrifying. My friend likes to remind me this is an unpopular opinion. Been a while since I've seen it, I'll have to give the original another watch.

I bought the DVD for 10 dollars then immediately wanted to get rid of it any way possible after I watched it. Renee Zellweger's performance is dull, just like virtually all of her performances, Matthew McConaughey's is good for what it is, but they don't redeem anything in it. Hell, there's even no gore. If there was, that'd probably redeem a whole lot, but no one actually gets killed or hurt by a chainsaw in this film.

Man I just watched this movie again after having not seen it in like a year. This is a straight up scary movie. Man is it refreshing to finally be scared by a horror movie. I wish that hollywood could come up with a movie like this again.

Hopefully Paramount and New Line take advantage of the release of the remake and release the original films.

You know, now that HD DVD is dead, can't Blu-ray's have pretty much any colour they feel like for their cases? The blue color really clashes with this cover art.
