It went from a very young Corey Carrier to a Corey Carrier who was clearly a year or two older. There was some narration to assist the transition, but it didn't help at all.

I understand Lucasfilm packaged these up for schoolroom viewing some years ago, but ye gods, can we get some narrative logic restored? Just preserve the way each episode aired on TV.
didn't mutt recon the daughter?

Yeah, anything in the Old Indy bookends is no longer canon since they were removed when Lucas reedited the episodes into feature-length films.

I'd like to see the episode where Harrison Ford reprises Indy during the bookend scenes for sure

Wasn't that the one bookend that didn't get edited out?

Yeah, Lucas left those ones in. They were for the feature-length episode "Young Indiana Jones and the Mystery of the Blues." Ford filmed the bookends while he was working on The Fugitive, which is why Indy has a beard.

I actually enjoyed this series more than TOD, LC and CS.

I'd like to see that. The east coast never saw the opening bookend because some news event cut into the program.

Was just thumbing through my Amazon Prime Watchlist and realized this is no longer available. (Yeah, I'm probably behind.) It sent me searching and curious why this isn't on Blu...I'd buy it...but only if complete and unedited to its original broadcast.

Nice to see that apparently it's already been HD-preserved... but where is it??

(But I know we can't count on Lucasfilm or Disney for much sanity these days...they'd probably edit the shit out of it.)

I was a huge fan of the YIJC series in the early '90's, and watched each episode when it was on TV originally. Also saw the four?! later 2-hour movies in the mid-late '90's (on cable). Here is my recollection of these:

Most of the actual individual episodes had the Old Indy (played by the late George Hall) book-ends. The ones that didn't have them (during the original network TV broadcasts) were several two-hour movies, i.e.:

-Young IJ and the Phantom Train of Doom - this had no bookends that I remember.

-Young IJ and the Mystery of the Blues - this had the very well-done Harrison Ford bookends.

I don't remember if the later cable TV movies had the bookends, but I don't remember them.

I did buy the entire extremely edited series when it came out on DVD in 2007-2008, and they were better than nothing. I do agree the edits were terrible, and really diluted & weakened the original episodes to a great extent.

So, count me in as a fan would definitely prefer to see the series re-released on Blu, with the original GH bookends (when they existed in an episode) & no edits whatsoever.

Started rewatching the series on DVD. I would LOVE to see these 1080p remastered versions! If I recall correctly, the DVD set of the TV series was released when the 4th movie hit the theater. Maybe the Blu-ray set will be released when the 5th and final movie gets released...

There's a YouTube channel called "Young Indy Restored" that re-edits the episodes back to their original form.

There is one that has a very well done HD upgrade of both the dvd version and the original version.

I'd insta buy a release that went back to the 16mm film and scanned it in, SD uprez anything else (like MacGyver), and in it's original TV version.
