I just saw this and checked out On Demand with Comcast. There's a whole slew of videos and featurettes. So if you have Comcast, check out the Movies and Events section. There's a tab for The Dark Knight.

I was thinking of seeing it in IMAX but I really like widescreen presentations. I know that a few scenes were filmed specifically with IMAX cameras so those will look good but does anyone know what the rest will look like? Will they crop it or will the rest be widescreen?

The rest of the movie will be widescreen but they segments they filmed in IMAX will fill up the whole screen. The rest of it will be like a regular IMAX movie (black bars on top and bottom).

don't know about the cropping, but the rest of it, like all other feature films to this date aren't really IMAX. They just blow up the image (upconvert it) and it's supposed to look better than regular film, but it's like comparing upconverted DVD and BD -- big difference. This is the first ever feature (fictional) major film to have even part of it filmed in IMAX.

Unfortunately IMAX some time ago changed their policy and allowed films that are not filmed in IMAX at all to be advertised as "IMAX experience" when all that is done is upconversion.

O, and AFAIK, there are 3D scenes in DK too.
