Thanks, but I was more complaining about the lack of BDA releases for all of the studio albums they released again on digital, cd and vinyl. It seemed weird those did not get a BDA release as well. Another concert I would be happy to pick up.

There's currently no plans to release the studio albums on the BDA format. Jimmy Page is alleged to be planning the release of a live recording to commemorate the band's 50th anniversary.

I concur. Even in stereo, not releasing the remastered on albums as BDA seems like a missed opportunity.

I'd also like to see an audio release of the 1970 Royal Albert Show show that was on the DVD. The recording was professionally mixed, and is floating around in bootleg circles, but it would be good to have a final finished professional recording.

I was wondering if you or others had heard a reason for the no BDA on the studio albums? If they are releasing concerts on BDA and studio on digital hi def it still baffles me. I had just never seen the rationale for the decision.

There is no official statement that I'm aware of. I'm guessing that this BDA was issued as nothing more than a supplement to the concert film. The Song Remains the Same package is the last item of Jimmy Page's release campaign for the original albums. Jimmy Page is focused on the 50th anniversary of the band, and there's allegedly a live recording in the works to celebrate and a promotional junket to follow that he'll be engaged with, as to whether BDAs of the studio albums will be forthcoming is anybody's guess.

2003 Live DVD released on blu ray (in HD with lossless audio) would be bad ass!

I second that. Especially with the "Song Remains" outtakes presented anamorphically. And extra footage would be wonderful

I've always loved the LP cover art of this release but have never bought it. I have seen the movie though. The packaging on this looks sweet. It reminds me of Styx Paradise Theater when it opened in AD 1928 and was dilapidated in 1958 (don't kill me for that comment).

I have the Blu-ray audio disc. "The Ocean" is included as Track #10, sandwiched between "The Rain Song" and "Dazed And Confused."

The 24 page booklet, has the notes that are same ones written in 2007 by Cameron Crowe. I will say, that for a product like this that's being bought by a whole lotta fans now over 50, they could have easily used a larger font, and each page certainly shows that they had to room to do it!

The entire 15 tracks are in 5.1 Surround DTS HD Master Audio & in Stereo High-Resolution Linear PCM Audio

Plus Video of C Day, OTHAFA, M M Hop, & The Ocean.

Exclusive Photo Gallery

The outside of the case and the outside of the album has a faux leather imprint on the black cardboard.

The UPC # is 6-03497-85892-7

The Catalog # is BD2-567649

Hellllooo Bluray.com. You know The Song Remains the Same was originally release on Blu-ray a million years ago - I have that version. And yet your reviewer offers no opinion whatsoever on whether this is simply a repackaging or if there if the sound and/or video has been remastered. So it's a pretty pointless review to me. WHAT I WANT TO KNOW - as I'm sure many of the owners of the original disc is IS IT WORTH AN UPGRADE... or no point. stick with what we got??? thank you.

this is in the first paragraph of the review:

"In a way, some cheeky types may argue that it may have been best if this review didn't contain screenshots, since the relatively brief video supplements offered on what is for all intents and purposes an audio Blu-ray disc aren't exactly demo material in the quality department. But this is after all really and truly an audio Blu-ray (with a little extra video swag, for those who care), and fans of Led Zeppelin and The Song Remains the Same should be thrilled with the audio presentation of the film's soundtrack."

"No Quarter" is my favorite song from the original soundtrack album. The edited version in the film always bugged me, and it's frustrating that JP picked that version to keep re-releasing.
