And did you use the Solar Gun or any other items from a previous save?

Spoilers:

I've got a few of the tedious emblems left but should have them all by the end of the day. I've got a lot of stupid things left like being in a barrel for an hour, or up against the wall for an hour, and giving out 50 items and holding up 50 people, I've also got the 30 hour gameplay thing which I'll just have to leave on pause or something. That's it I believe. Oh yeah I still have to die 50 times so I can get the corpse camo as well. That should do it though. I'll have to check my photos but I think I got most of the pictures of the ghosts at Shadow Moses. So after that I'll just be waiting on downloadable stuff.

No, didnt have the solar gun. But I did have lots of weapons from the previous save, but couldnt use them, all of them were lethal.

I also had to be precise with my non-lethal bullets because I couldnt buy non-lethal bullets from Drebin. I only restocked on non-lethal bullets if I could find them.

Well since mainman and I already got our BigBoss emblems, I guess someone has ... and with some decent stats ^^

Uhm ... I guess I could let you in on a little secret ... you CAN use lethal weapons for all boss fights. The only thing you get by stamina killing them is the corresponding doll I think. If you don't care about that or if you already have them go ahead and RPG them. ^^ Just make sure you use non-lethal weapons after they come out of theirs suits. Same holds true for Vamp btw ... you cannot kill him at all ^^

BTW: I tried it out and the Solar Gun does not count as a special item so it should be possible to use it when heading for BB rank. However, I somehow consider it cheating ... it does make things ALOT easier. If you just wanna get the emblem and enjoy the special item it might be ok but if you really wanna test your limits with the game you should start from scratch ...

Ye, I used lethal weapons on the bosses. I didnt have the solar gun so couldnt use it.

Also, the Patriot always lol's me. When you start aiming, you sometimes hear music. Everytime that happens it makes me laugh.

Sorry, dont want to spoil it, just try it out (eventhough it is only a minor spoiler, maybe not even a spoiler at all).

It might not have the same effect on you however, but it makes me laugh everytime, because you just dont expect any music and all of a sudden the music plays.

I don't think anything happens. You can go to your photo album and exorcise the ghosts from the pictures, but I don't think you're awarded anything. Supposedly there's 30 ghosts, but after checking my pictures I've only got 17, and I was extremely throrough in my search, so I can't imagine where the others could be if in fact there are 30.

lol i didnt even get one ghost , guess i wasnt really lookin for it i def will my second time around. the first time i was just looking to experince the story.

Hmmm... wish I read this thread first... I would have only posted these here! I should have put them up when I first finished I guess so people would know the Solar Gun is good to go...

The motorcycle level was the only dumb thing for me... talk about a 100% luck shot! I felt there was very little if any skill needed for the level; however, it took a ton of run throughs to 'get lucky' and finally make it just because of the randomness.

Ok so there IS a spot to view the emblems you have collected and see what you are missing.

Where is that?

There's no spot... I just took digital pictures of the screen after I completed Boss Extreme and got the Big Boss Emblem.

I have shots of all the weapons and big boss camo also, but didn't want to put up spoiler jpegs (no way to highlight over those!).

So it just shows you that emblems screen for 5 seconds after you beat the game? No way to access it at will?

Tbh, the Big Boss emblem is easier than the Chicken emblem simply because Chicken is way too tedious and lengthy.

Once you've played through the game without alerts, kills, continues, health on Solid Normal or above, it's pretty easy to do it again on any skill level. There's pretty much a pattern to every area and once you know it you can jog through each level.

There's currently no way to see your emblems besides beating the game again.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were an update soon to include this (along with some other commonly desired issues with MGS4).

Displays until you button-press through but there's no way to access it at will AFAIK.
