Crap, I didn't think about "Love Guru" coming out the same weekend. Those movies will take dollars away from eachother... I am thinking Get Smart will pull in more (parents that watched the series taking their families to see it), but I say that because I am biased from my love of the original tv series. I do want to see Love Guru as well though because I think Mike Meyers is hilarious. We shall see how this weekend plays out.

30-40 for get smart, movie has a good ad campaign and it will probably attract many people. I will see it before I see Love Guru

I think Get Smart edges out Guru, but Hulk stays at the top.

The comedic battle for the weekend appears to be to leaning towards "Get Smart", at least according to variety.com.

"Various tracking services show Get Smart from Warner Bros., ahead of Paramount's Guru. By how much depends upon which tracking company you are going by. "Get Smart," co-produced and co-financed by Village Roadshow, looks like it will attract a broader audience, while "Guru" is skewing younger.

Either way, there are only so many spoils to spread around."

As a fan of both hockey and Mike Myers, I thought this might be good... but then I saw the trailer.... so disappointed, was I.

The industry predicts that GET SMART will do around $38 million and LOVE GURU around $16 million. Not good for either if you aske me. My theatre is getting GET SMART this weekend and after going over the numbers, it appears that I will not have any increase of business over the last 2 weeks when I got nothing. Does not look good at all.

Depends on who you ask.

They probably spent no more than $10-15 million on Love Guru so making $16 is a solid way of making sure that Myers is golden for at least the next few movies that he makes.

I'm not too sure what will do better in the box office. I did however see a screening of The Love Guru and could not stop laughing the entire time. Mike Myers was hilarious throughout the whole movie and made it a very entertaining movie.

I think that get smart might disappoint me, not because of the movie it self but because of the supporting cast. The movie looks funny and so does the guy from the 40 year old virgin, he looks like he was born for that role. But every one else looks out of place on the preview. I hope im wrong. I use to love to watch this show on nick at night when I was little. Back when nick at night played good shows and not the fresh prince of belair and crap like that from the 90s

Guru - 55 mil
Get Smart - 30 mil
Dont remember the other - 6 mil

Get smart doesnt have the appeal of the other Steve Carrel comedies, and his last one, dan in real life, really under performed at the box office, showing signs hes NOT MEANT FOR PG-13 MOVIES DAMNIT... people want him in R-Rated flicks.. I know I sure do. Plus Get Smart doesn't show a lot of promise.

I think Love Guru will suck, in fact Im betting it will from what Ive seen clip wise of it, but its Mike Meyers, and his films rarely do terrible, and itll open in the 55 mil range.

Hes done an assload of promotion for it, Get Smart hasnt. Sure a few late night talk shows, but nothing like LG has put into it

love guru has been promoted to death...

It will way out perform get smart but to be honest, it looks like both movies are gonna blow anyway... they wont be getting my 10$ + sour patch kids at the box office for either movie

It looks like their forecasts have been pretty accurate with a few exceptions, but Guru,Panda, and Hulk are within $2 million so pretty much any of them could be second with probably none making more than $25 million

I think Hulk could be at a Low of $20 million and a High of $35 million. I don't think 35 will be enough to pass Get Smart for the week.
