I almost ordered Almost Famous with priority, but it would have cost over $50!
I've found that standard shipping tends to be quicker than a U.S. based store, because they are forced to fly it here rather than ground shipping as most standard U.S. shipping is.

I haven't used their standard shipping but with the express shipping from Amazon.de, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.fr, I got the movies in 2 days. If ordering from Xploited Cinema, I get it in 1 day (with overnight shipping).

Thanks for the answers!
That's the route I'll definately take then if I want to import something instead of paying all that extra money for priority.

Sounds really good, but unless it's something I absolutely don't want to wait for,I think I'll go with the standard.

Here is a link where you can get it starting at £3.99. It's an Ebay auction from the UK: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLU-RAY-ALMOST...QQcmdZViewItem

I've purchased a couple of things from this seller before and everything worked out great. This particular auction ends in 2 hours, but they have several other copies available. Their shipping rate to the US is £2.99, and the movie should arrive within a week to 10 days.
So, even if you end up winning the auction for like £7.99 and you add the shipping charge (£2.99), you're still looking at getting the movie for about $22 shipped to the US. That's a great deal.

That's probably the case for most people since it sometimes costs as much as the movie to use the priority shipping. I just posted it for anyone that might want to use priority shipping at some point. If you're willing to pay, you can get it pretty quickly and I guess I was surprised by that. I thought I'd have to wait a week no matter what.

Not necessarily. There are a lot of foreign titles that are available in their domestic markets that may not see a U.S. release for quite some time. While it's likely the U.S films will probably receive a domestic release eventually, the question remains to be, when? You can wait if you want or buy it now.

Well, now it's more the matter of you deciding for yourself whether or not some of these movies are worth the wait until they're released stateside. Especially since some of them are relatively inexpensive to import.

I've ordered a lot of stuff from Amazon.uk and recommend it without hesitation. You do not even need a new account as your regular Amazon log-in works there. Items are well packed and tend to come within 5 to 7 days with the basic shipping. I'm not so sure why people seem scared to import. There are going to be exclusive Blu-ray titles for years from other regions.
