Xenogears is an amazing RPG. I remember spending quite a lot of time with it back in the day.

Einhander, on the other hand... I remember renting it and finding it to be a weird cross between Power Stone and Tekken. Omni-directional 3D beat-em-up, but the game had a limited roster and honestly wasn't very fun.

What!? Einhander is a shooter. How is it even remotely like Tekken?

Good call, Dragon Quest is my favorite game series. I saw that 4 and even 5 and 6 are to be remade soon. But as DS games. I pray that we see the PS1 remakes of all of these that were japan-only to reach the PSN eventually.

Is it really so hard to make the same games available in all PSN regions? I mean, it's not like they're shipping anything, just put it in the store from your office in Japan, and I'll download it from here... simple.

i would love to fork out for this on disc but from memory im sure this never saw the light of day in the uk, i imported it on my modded ps1 and the ps3 is region locked for ps1/ps2 .

someone else posted that it cant be that hard to distribute these on the psn outside japan.now for games like mgs1 and XENOGEARS the translations aint a problem as there already done as there was a usa version, but i cant see them translating the titles that never made it out of japan, i could be wrong there but i dont think so.

i recon the problem has to lie with who has the rights to distribute these games outside of japan, did EA not distribute most of the squaresoft games for a while(possibly even XENOGEARS was one of them) if they(distributers) still have the rights to these games they could be the ones causing the hold up's with our CLASSIC ps1 titles.

Oh, perhaps I am. That was a long time ago, back when I still owned a PS1 (original PS1, not even a PSOne, which I purchased later)...

EA did distribute Square games from Parasite Eve (1998) through Unlimited Saga (2002), this is true. But in times folowing that, several games were reprinted, sometimes as Greatest Hits. The cover art and customer service info inside was changed to say 'Square Enix'.

I don't think distribution rights will be a problem.

If they do get remade on DS, they will be just more reason (along with the FF remakes) that I need to get a DS. Now all I have to do is convince my wife that there are cool games for her on the DS, and I'm in like Flynn!

Correct Einhander is a shooter, Ehrgeiz was the 3D Fighter with Square Characters like Cloud and Sephiroth, aslo had a RPG/Hack and Slach Adventure Mode.

And I want Xenogears, Dragon Warrior VII, and Brave Fencer Musashi STAT!

After those Parasite Eve 1 & 2.

I would love Dragon Warrior 7 and Brave Fencer Musashi as well. Never played them, but always wanted to.

Agreed, it was a sleeper hit considering Square's big hits on the PS1 at the time were all Final Fantasy-related

I picked up a PS1 CD version of Einhander off of eBay a while ago, it was used and only had a cover page of the manual in the CD holder but it works. Wasn't too expensive with the bid I ended up winning with, maybe only $3-4 more than a new one would've cost. Was lots of fun playing it on the PS3 60GB via my PSP hookup.

Xenogears didn't work on my PS2...it crashed every time I first got the airship. Never tried on the PS3 since I put my PSOne games in storage but I'd imagine it'd be the same as the PS2. I tried on like 5 PS2s
I'd download the hell out of it but a remake would be even amazinger! Or, you know, the conclusion of the Saga...
