I wanna buy this! I've heard nothing but good things, the only issue may be the subject matter which you really have to get into to enjoy. Amc is replayig the whole 1st season some time in early july before season 2 starts. I'd check it out thon tv before purtchasing it.

Good call. It is a terrific show in just about every way, but the style and subject matter won't be of interest to some people.

I read a bit about this when it first aired, but was watching so many shows at the time that I didn't bother trying it out. Then I caught the EW issue with it on the cover, read some more about it, and decided to procure the pilot episode on the Net. I enjoyed it enough to opt for a semi-blind buy rather than viewing the rest of the season in decent quality on my computer monitor. I had a $20 gift card, took it to Wal-Mart on Tuesday, and was glad to see they had a solitary copy sitting there, wrapped snugly in a black security sensor. It was $39.99, meaning I paid about $21 out of my own pocket. The wife and I just watched the pilot, since she hadn't yet seen it.

I'm anxious to watch the rest of Season 1 before Season 2 begins later this month.

I netflixed it and watch the first episode and nothing seem to happen for me. Now i know in seasons it takes more than the first episode to be able to judge a show so while i wont say the whole show sux to me but nothing came across as good from watching episiode one.

Default Should I get Mad Men?

I have never watched the show but it seems everyone really likes. I figure if I buy it I will buy it on Blu-Ray but I just need to know if i should purchase it or not.

Just finished the first season last night. I thought it was very well done. I would get it through Netflix though to see if you like it first.

Good question, OP. I was wondering about people's opinion on Madmen here also. I've read good things about the PQ/AQ, so could be a possible future purchase if it is actually a good show.

Tilapiah6 I will let you know what I think of the show. i think just seeing my first tv show in full

OMG YES! YES! YES! It was a blind buy for me too! and I'm so glad I got it... ALL but 3 episodes have 2 Commentaries!! (they all have atleast 1) so if you like commentaries it has a rewatchability factor and the other features are cool too! I got it for $16.99 @ amazon during Black Friday but even at the current price it is WORTH IT! Especially cuz it is a BLU

ALSO GET PUSHING DAISIES if u don't have it!!
