Default Projectors for under $500

I have a 37" LCD TV. Down where I work we have Benq and Sanyo Projectors for under $500. I don't remember the model numbers.
We also have the Sony VPL-EX5 Projector for about $700. Is it even worth to get a projector that cheap. Does anyone have experience with one of those? Is so please tell me.. Also don't forget the model number

Most of those "super cheap" FP are not made for HT use but for business or school presentations. They will have few adjustments to tweek, overly bright, blacks will be poor & poor colors.
Best to save you money!!!

Indeed, I have it, and I love it, totally worth every single penny, anything lower probably isn't worth it(I speak with experience)

Mine was $725, it's 720p and looks great...I'll eventually upgrade to 1080p, but in the meantime...I'm very happy.

I paid 780.00 thru Amazon within the last two weeks for the HC1500. I can't realy see me upgrading to 1080p for a long time.

I agree..... but the HC1500 has been $900 everyday on amazon for the past couple of weeks..... I have been putting off buying it until I got into the new house, and I just got the keys to the house Friday I'll keep "prepping" the room, and if I have to, I'll wall-mount my LCD in the the theater room, and just add the projector and screen once I can justify spending the money for a 1080p model (if one is available for $1600-$1,700 in 6-9 months) I can't have everything all at once I guess

I had the HC1500 "in my cart" at $740, so when I saw the price increased, I tried to check-out, and it kicked it back at me
