From what it says, it sounds like this will be a six disc set, one of which being a Blu-Ray (probably the one already released), and the other 5 being DVDs. The discs in the set could be:

1) The original theatrical
2) The extended TV version
3) The new "rare" extended version
4) The "25 Years Of Terror" Documentary (or possibly a new one)
5) The existing Blu-Ray
6) ??? Maybe a disc loaded with extras

All wrapped up in a pretty box with a mini Myers mask.

So I'm not getting too excited until the full details come out - probably on Friday in the new Home Media Magazine.
I think the wording is just screwy.

And we know they were planning a 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray of Halloween from the Anchor Bay article that mentioned Hellraiser and Children of the Corn that was published recently. So we know that it was coming.

I highly doubt that they'd put out a boxset with a Blu-Ray disc included in it. The clueless masses who buy it cause it's DVD, will think they have a damaged disc. It will lead to problems a plenty.

Unless it has the correct color timing, I will not buy this version either.

Even though I should never have to even type this these days, it will be cheaper on Amazon so let's not see whining about the price until all is known...

I agree. Until they make an official announcement, I wouldn't worry about this just yet. I'm anxious to see what this will include for the Blu Ray version. If it is worth it to me to get this again, you can bet that I will. I love this movie, and have it on a limited VHS edition, the PSP, dvd and the Blu Ray that came out last year. I just hope Universal announces that Halloween 2 will be coming to Blu. Going by the early reviews, I can only imagine what the PQ/Aq will be like on it.

Ill be first in line for this if it happens .. Now bring on the rest of the halloweens even the less then amazing later sequels. It probably wont happen so easy seeing as different studios own different sequels, even disney has a piece of the pie with Halloween 6 rights lol ..

I just hope this version has the correct color timing as others have mentioned. I think purists know of this issue and hopefully it can be settled.

I'm sure that I am not the only one who thinks it is incredibly stupid to put a blu-ray in a dvd box set.

The only way I buy this is....

1.) All the disks are blu ray

2.) There is a complete restoration of the original film INCLUDING the proper color correction and a lossless PCM soundtrack

2.) There are documentaries/bonus features that have not been made avaliable on any previous release of Halloween.

Based on the back cover art over at DVDActive, this is exactly what it appears to be: a DVD set that features the existing Blu-ray release as one of the discs.

That's officially lame.

And even more lame if they don't offer the Extended Cut seperatly.
