I think what he meant was that when walking the floor of E3 and seeing the cross-platform games on display, they are almost always displayed running on 360 and not PS3. At least that's what I thought he meant.

ooooh, being able to watch the same Netflix instant watchable movies and TV shows with your party on XBox Live....very cool. I was talking to someone on here the other day how it would be cool to watch Blu-ray's together on the PS3.

Microsoft announced this morning that they signed an EXCLUSIVE deal with netflix.
Netflix members can now rent through XBox Live. That really sucks. I don't think that Sony's movie service will ever be able to compete with that. What are you thoughts? |

Link? I don't doubt it, but I'd like to read it.
That said, it definitely sucks. I would think Netflix would want to reach as many console users as possible. edit: Engadget has it... bummer. http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/14/m...e-partnership/ Last edited by bilbravo; 07-14-2008 at 06:37 PM. |

Microsoft helps promote multi-console releases on the 360 by providing commercial $$$ support - with the stipulation that the 360 is the only platform mentioned in the ad. That is why you often will see a commercial for a multiplatform release, such as GTA IV, with only the 360 mentioned.
Sony puts all of their marketing efforts into their campaigns on 1st party exclusive games. Personally, I don't think that's nearly enough support, especially when games like The Getaway and Eight Days, which were touted as huge PS3 exclusives, get sh!t canned. A Sony executive - I forget who - recently said in an interview that only 1st party games matter to Sony, because they can control them. I don't know if something got lost in translation with that statement, because if I was a 3rd party developer, I'd be a little miffed hearing that statement from Sony. Sony needs to buy a clue and work on supporting 3rd party developers more. Square Enix clearly despises Sony now, after being their biggest 3rd party developer for a long time. They have been releasing a surprising number of Japanese RPGs on the 360, even though the 360 has a functional installed base of around 25 consoles in Japan. Having strong 1st party games is needed and great, but they need to have great 3rd party support as well. The PS3 should be the lead platform with better graphics and lighting, as well as exclusive DLC. Sony needs to step up to the plate. |
