I found the movie to be boring. I tried watching it back in the day and did not finish. I got it on blu for effects and it took me three days to finish. The pace of the movie is boring. What I really thought killed the movie was not knowing the where the troops were going by showing over head shots or showing the guys back at base laying it out on a map on a wall or something. Without this, I just felt like the soldiers were running around and did not know where they were going. After two hours of this it loses your interest. Great sound effects though..

I thought it was a great story and was well-executed. It has a laundry list of (now) stars. It has great tension, pacing, music and effects. PQ and AQ are really high as well. Plus, (I believe) it's been approved by the surviving family members of those who died in the skirmish.

I can understand why some people may not like it, but I certainly can't see how you would call it boring or a waste.

I have this movie and this book. I consider the book to be unreadable since the author has some of the poorest English skills I've ever seen in a published book.

'To Each His Own' is right! Everyone has their own opinion and you have stated yours OP. But in all honesty. It is not realistic to compare Black Hawk to Enemy Lines. BHD is based on a true story, actual events that happened in our lifetime. BEL is a fictional story. So for these two films to be compared is quite, quite unjust. I have triple-dipped on BHD and currently keep 2 versions in my collection. BD and the 3-disc Special Edition. Iam unfoundly intrigued in the true life story and happenings of the Somalia events, and the 3-disc SE has hours of insight into this. So as you dont find it entertaining, I myself ( and obviously others ) ALSO DO NOT find BHD entertaining, but I DO find in this academy award winning film what we were ment to get from it, ................... knowledge into the actual event.
