Found a way to reset my username and password so I would be able to access the settings I need. The Router by the way is an ActionTec MI424WR if anyone has any pointers on this.

I've been having issues with my PSP doing Remote Play with my PS3 whiles its still turned on and its in Remote Play mode. It works maybe 1 out of 10 times.

Right now the best way for my PSP to talk to my PS3 is to have the PS3 turned off first and have it automatically turned on by my PSP. So far its worked 10 out of 10 times.

Anyone else have similar results?

IF the PS3 is already turned on, you have to set the PS3 to Remote Play manually before you select Remote Play on the PSP.

Oh yea of course. PSN has some PSP games for sale or you download PS1 classics on it. and of course you can play PS1 games from your PS3 via Remote Play. I always play Final Fantasy 8 when i take a poop.

Thank you everyone for help with this. I really want this to work and I will continue to try to make it happen. I will try more of these options and see if it works.

You have to make sure your router is port forwarding to the PS3.

TCP/UDP:9293

Some put their PS3 in the DMZ. I don't, I port forward. Still it seems like Remote Play is hit or miss.
I forwarded the ports but it is still a no go. I try to connect via the internet through my work wireless connection and after the sign in and please wait screen I get the error connection to the PS3 has timed out. Should I try the DMZ thing? Any other suggestions?

Wait so I can put a PS1 disc into my PS3 and connect via Remote Play with my PSP? Does this work for PS2 games as well if I had the 80gb PS3?

Nah, as of now it only works with PS1 games. but yeah, you can put a PS1 game in your PS3 and play it on your PSP via remote play. this is where i say a disc changer would come in handy.

I suggest connecting while the PS3 is turned off. Also to take out the whole IP scheme they have you hooked up with as well as the DMZ. If your PS3 can connect to the internet, then you should be OK and do not need to do those changes.

I've been having the same problems and what works for me is if I set it to where my PSP turns on my PS3. So far I've had 100% connection rate.

Just connect via Private Network > Your Router SSID

Let me know the results.

Yeah definately!

If I could I'd have GTAIV/SCIV/MGSIV on rotation.

So I just tried only connecting via Private Network with my work router and I get the error "PS3 system that this system is registered with was not found."

The setting are set to turn on PS3 with remote play. Works fine in the house but spokes my GF when she is watching tv.

I'd just throw all my PS1 games in there to just play them via Remote Play.

If its your work router then that could be the issue. I can't play remotely at my work probably because of their firewall/internet policy settings so you could be having the same experience.
