...along with a 3-D cartoon version and a pop-up book version of the story.

I guess I'm just too young still to enjoy this movie. I've watched it twice, and while I don't think it's bad I still don't enjoy it that much. Maybe watching in in beautiful high definition will change my opinion.

NIIICE! this was one of my favorite HD DVD's and can't wait to pick it up on BD.

The PQ is PHENOMENAL! So much texture and detail.
This movie never gets old. I'll pay whatever they want!

At $64.99 MSRP, I wouldn't hold my breath for it selling a lot...

And would you like Rick and Ilsa to stay together at the end this time?

It is a little odd to only release it in the 'deluxe' edition (for which, $65 sounds pretty consistent with other such editions) but Warner did do something kind of similar with the SD DVD release of 'Blade Runner,' making the Workprint only available in the deluxe set (the one with the suitcase, origami unicorn, etc.) (luckily, in that case, HDDVD & Blu-Ray users were able to buy just the five disks for a darn good price.)

btw, if anyone's curious; the one addition to this new Casablanca (the DVD and the Blu-Ray) in terms of extras is a feature length documentary on Jack Warner. Other than that, it will mirror the older (excellent) SD and HDDVD releases for extras.
The transfer is so well regarded, I seriously doubt Warner will be remastering it.

I don't think I saw anyone mention this...

But I'm placing bets.

Who thinks this is going to be a BD-25?

I would love to get the movie on BD, but I really wish they would have a bare-bones version without all the fluff. As well, I can't afford to waste shelf-space on a massive box like that.

I've gotten Warner boxes before, but after one look through, I really find I'd rather just have the regular ol' Blu box and the disk. More becomes too much.

A very bonehead decision not to release the movie separately. They are not going to make as much money as a result.

I think that's because the HD DVD version get lackluster sales.

WB concluded no average people don't want to buy this movie in High-Def. For those diehard fans, give them collector's edition would be better than give them barebone version first.

Agreed, most likely why they are doing it. I'm a collector and am a total ***** for special editions
