Transformers Blu-ray Master-Thread

Mine shipped a couple of hours ago, should have it Tuesday/Wednesday.

i wonder how he got a copy even before release at this point considering release date is a tad farther down the line.... at times, i have to wonder about these reviews, and end up taking it with a grain of salt...

"The, almost 2.5 hour, film alone takes up a whopping 43+ Gig of space on the dual-layered first disc. We can safely assume that this is an improvement over the older HD edition simply because that defunct format couldn't hold that much data on one disc. This new Blu-ray looks very good balancing nicely between saturation and brightness (never extending too far in either reach) with some very healthy detail. The only problem I found was more with the effects which constantly force a shaky camera so as to adhere to the haze-producing CGI (and whatever other brands of computer generated effects that were utilized). After a while you'd prefer to actually see some of the Transformers in action but the camera is moving at such a rapid, jittery, pace that nothing is very discernable, in detail, for too long. Colors can look very intense at times - perhaps artificially boosted (does the sky or the desert really look those vibrant colors?). In the end, without my ineffectual griping - the image is damn impressive - jaw-dropping at times. I don't suspect any Digital Noise Reduction used to compensate for artefacts but the image is as smooth as a baby's butt anyway - minor noise exists as it always does, and will, aside from digital animation in Blu-ray - but it's at the very lower end of the scale with Transformers - regardless. Resolution, on the other hand, is at an exceedingly high level - I just wish there were more opportunities in the film to showcase this and establish the disc as a demonstration reference. Transformers has some pristine detail - just not in abundance - and this is no fault of the transfer which could be described as 'flawless'. I can't imagine it being represented on this medium any better than this. "

Ik denk dat hij regio vrij is (tot nu toe alle paramount titels) dus lekker bestellen bij een online shop in de US. is waarschijnlijk nog goedkoper ook

the reviewers get them early. The stores probably have them already and can't sell them yet. My order shipped yesterday so I should have it next week.

+1. They put a DTS-HD track with top gun, why couldn't do they do it with this one. Im sure its still gonna be good. wish I had a hidef reciever so I could enjoy this. Will just have to stick with my HD-DVD version.

For some reason, it's telling me I can't utilize the BD-LIVE function. I have the latest firmware with my PS3 and it's connected to the internet. Everything functions correctly in that respect. Is there something I'm supposed to do to turn on BD-LIVE?

Oftentimes it seems the studios don't allow access to the BD Live pages until the official street date. I know Sony does this, and I would assume when the Transformers is officially out it'll work.

hey, guys i luv blu i'm glad it won the race, video is amazing. i don't own anything blu yet but i visit my uncle's house ALOT cause he has blu everything and a real system that will put some theaters to shame. he has over 5000 watts but in my basement i have 3800 watts of power. i'll be growing blu very soon i have all hdtv's and i can't wait to get my player.

i've been waiting for a player that decodes MA and they out just coming out now so i'll b in serious debt come jan. 09 but i'll b happy.......

Transformers kicked ass I know it was shot in high def so it should look incredible on blu i'm still anticipating Transformers 2 With Jonah Hill as the sidekick its gonna bring some more comedy to it. I thought SUPERBAD was frikin hilarious

No, I wish, the reviewers had theirs last week. Plus, they probably don't have to pay for them. I found an onlite site that was shipping it early.

I would love to do reviews because they get almost every title early, and I am assuiming they do not pay for them. I believe the studios ship them directly to them.
