It was a joke. Yes, written in such an absurd manner as to be inmistakable. I have a history here of mocking marriage by writing satirical "advice". No harm intended.

haha i know

im vary difficult to "harm"

and i agree HTIB are crap, but compared to regular tv speakers wel take it

i on the other hand have a decent real system and can allways tell the differnece

but my system is in much need of an upgrade to DDHD quality, but im already going to have to dip into my upgrade fund to get her an HDtv, because whenever i go to her place and try to play like rockband on the crappy 17inch sdtv i about go blind, it has gotten unacetable

well my Logitech Z-5300 it is 5.1 THX with a peak of 560W but is only 280W RMS and sounds GREAT!!! . my home theatre is a YAMAHA RX-V663 7.1 receiver with two 70W YAMAHA subwoofers and two 300W infinity subwoofers at a total of 1,435W peak. RMS is around 1,000W sounds BEYOND EXCELLENT!!! . so yes I can see a theatre in a box being around 1,000W peak power. but who it is from is more important.

How much did your girlfriend spend on the HTIB system and is it possible to return? (I can recommend a superior, even temporary, system that can beat any HTIB system in any range )

eventually il get her a real reciver but for now the HTIB well do. i was just currious on how such a tiney and small piece of equipment, could do 1000 watts

thanks for your answers
Did she buy it at walmart? The reason I asked is I bought an RCA HTIB for like $150 which sounded ok but no bass really. So I said screw it and took it back and bought the Sony 720 (HDMI sound for lossless) and Yamaha 5.1 speakers for a total of $500 at best buy and it is UNREAL listening to Twister in TrueHD! Its worth every extra penny.

Ok. You wouldn't be thinking of upgrading to a standalone player, would you? If you are, look at the Sony BDP-S550. It has analog outs so you can get HD audio to the receiver I showed you so you don't have to even upgrade your receiver and save even more money.

Abosolutley not
Untill they start making 2.0 players at $400 or less, the ps3 is the best right now IMO

I found this site(blue-ray.com) and was doing alot of reading and seeing the different set-ups.

Now I lost my mind and spent alot more then $98... lol on a surround system.
My system dosen't cost as much as alot of them I have seen.

yet I Love my whole set-up.
