Not for all, I've seen many many hd-dvd fans post that they'll stick with sd-dvd if Blu-ray wins.

Absolutely!

I've said ever since I heard about the PS/3 plan that this not only means an initial flood of users, but it represents a clear, indentifiable, and easily and CHEAPLY marketed to demographic for the studios and the HD set makers.

As long as the PS/3 sells as expected, since 80%-90% of users will eventually use it an HD disc player in some way, it guarantees a massive success for Blu-ray no matter what else happens.

Also, if they are smart, Sony and the BDA will start putting some marketing on PS/2 game discs. Sell HDTV, sell HD gaming, and sell BD movies.

What complete idiots.

I know if hell froze over and HD DVD won I'd go there as I know the names I trust like Pioneer would be there too, but to say you'd rather stick with SD DVD? Even a wally like Amir will go Blu sometime next year, if he doesn't already have a player.

Yeah, I've seen those statements too. Those people couldn't possibly be real HD fans. They are pure anti-X zealots.

This sounds as dumb decision that I have ever heard in my life.

If Blu-ray win, they go back to degrade picture quality and 480i instead 720p to 1080p and 1080i.

If Blu-ray win, I stick with High Defintion format, blu-ray and HD DVD until HD dVD is discontiuned then it will become one format in my pruchase which is only one format in market, Blu-ray. I don't care who win or lose this war. All I care is this look better than standard dvd. I love both, but may the best one win. I am movie fan and HD fan.

This is why I love both and collect both despite war and $. Only one will last longer and one format collection will be more than defeat format in my collection in the future, unless something happen like "Total HD" which will can prevent it or it will fail to prevent it from become only one format.

God bless ya'll! Have a great weekend!
Look forward to watch OSCARS on ABC HD on my family Bravia HDTV this weekend.

Those people are called fanboys, and I'm not really sure why they joined the early adopter crowd as they obviously have no interest in the technology. They probably bought in just to support their company and think that by making bold statements like that Blu-Ray will just disappear... funny.

I can understand being pissed about dumping money into a losing format, I would be too, but if HD-DVD somehow does win you bet your ass I'd use it instead of a regular DVD player. HD-DVD hardcore fans seem to be losing all common sense and rationality over this format war. Reminds me of a 4 year old when they get their favorite toy taken away from them, they just start kicking and screaming.

(1) Not all PS/3 people are going to be using it as a BD player
(2) Nov 2006 for PS/3 v. April 2006 for HD DVD. Anyone else see a little problem there?

Not only is his attach rate question based on 100% usage, it ignores that the players being attached to have been out three times longer for HD DVD.

That is spin worthy of Amir!

That is a pretty sad statement for someone to say they will stick to standard dvds if HD-DVD loses the war. Like someone else said, if by some miracle HD-DVD won the war I would just embrace it as there would be no way I would go back to standard dvds.

In denial to accept change?

Or would they just prefer to be sore losers in the end?

Its not that those people are Pro HD-DVD. Its that they are anti-Sony and thus, anti-Blu-Ray by default. Most of them are probably X-bots or Wii-tards.

it makes me laugh when they said they will stick to Sd-DVD if Blu-ray wins.

but i'm sure they will get rid of their HD-dvd or broken it and step foward to Blu-ray more advanced technology in High definition.

sockpuppets.. that's why the EU is moving to ban them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sockpuppet_%28Internet%29

based on this idea..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sockpuppet

they troll all the forums, especially game forums and poison all the PS3 wells. Doesn't matter how ludicrous what they say is..they get "friends" to then join in and then "Verify" their nonsense. Every positive conversation eventually gets overwhelmed with lies and misinformation....sound familiar?

PS3 HD is easily upgraded with standard drives for those desiring it in the future..

sockpuppet - "oh that's stupid who would ever want to do that..your better off buying a new console over and over"..etc etc..

Patterns of behavior.
