For me, I'd have to say Stargate and Independence Day. I end up watching them whenever they're on TV, but it's funny to see how cheesy those movies are now that I am older.

Ouch, way to knock Eastwood down a notch. Really? Dirty Harry was your childhood favorite? That aside.. Sucked? Don't you think you're being a bit harsh on the originial renegade cop movie? Sorry, but the Dirty Harry films are and will remain in my top favs. "Go ahead.." isn't spoken in Dirty Harry but Sudden Impact (also an awesome movie). Regardless, "Ask yourself, 'Do I feel lucky?'" will always be cool, peri-F'n-od.

Curious about the ages of the people putting ID4. I was a teenager when that came out.

Does anyone remember the show Small Wonder about a girl that's a robot?

Hahaha, Small Wonder was awful, even as a child I couldn't stand that show. For me, a childhood favorite that doesn't hold up is Land of the Lost. I used to love that show. I saw some clips recently and laughed right out loud at how terrible it was.

I remember that show...it was on Fox before it became Fox.

G.I. Joe definitely did NOT grow with me and I remember when Bram Stoker's Dracula came out: It was like "Oh my God...the BEST movie EveRRRR."

Now...it's kinda fun to watch once in a while. Gary Oldman is still awesome in it, but Keanu and Winona are just embarrassing to watch.

Commando is a little silly now too.

Just to name a few more: He-Man, She-Ra, Dinosaucers, Cops (cartoon), You can't do that on television, who's afraid of the dark, fat albert.

Well... special effects wise you're right on... it's just terrible... however, any scene that doesn't involve special effects that Val Kilmer is in, is still pretty good. Man, he's hilarious in that movie.

One that I really liked when I was little that I can't stand now... Romancing the Stone. I remember thinking it was exciting and action packed, kinda like Indiana Jones.... boy was I wrong.

See, I'm the other way. If I have something I liked growing up, I generally still like it to this day... if nothing else than for the nostalgia and cheese-factor... examples: Beastmaster, Masters of the Universe, Top Secret! ... all still movies I enjoy and watch on a semi-regular basis.

Oh, I agree! Most movies I grew up with I still love--Commando, Neverending Story, Little Rascals, Homeward Bound, Dennis the Menace, just to name half a dozen. It's just that sometimes I come across an old relic and think "Why did I like this?"

The Dark Crystal.
I guess I realized my attraction to it was mostly aesthetic or something, but the story just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Haha, I can still remeber the training montages with his son and of course when it was time to get serious, he would flip his hat...

Actually most of the films I saw as a child still hold up. I mostly went with my sibs and I guess they had good taste. It's mostly films I saw as a teenager that don't hold up anymore.

The Black Hole - Need I say more?
Wrong is Right - Not everything Sean Connery is cool. This wasn't even bad in a fun way, like Zardoz.
Blue Thunder - Hot women doing nude yoga no longer compensate for brainless plots.
