Huh. Have to see how the Mac version stacks up to Safari. So far I find Safari to be much better than Firefox, especially the new Firefox.

can you customize Safari 3 like Firefox 3? does it have tons of add-on's like Firefox?

I didn't think so!!!

I tried Safari before and to me it royaly sucked compared to the allmighty Firefox.

and may I ask why you think Safari is so much better then firefox...specially compared to version 3.0?

i just hope they release a mac client tomorrow. i'm tired of safari
so you're a fan of something that is not yet released and sorta bash people who like Firefox? Come on, man. But than again, you're a mac user...

Privacy mode was something that was supposed to be in FF3, but didn't make it.

The faster JavaScript processing is something Mozilla talked about bringing to 3.1 last week (?).

Sounds like Google should have just purchased Firefox instead of trying to copy it. Unless they can get an active user base like FF, it will fail.

If it's better than firefox, I'll use it. Better is subjective, so I mean better in my eyes.

I always try to use the best product that I personally like regardless of who makes it.

Well put. In all honesty, MS has had their hands so deep into so much software for businesses (specifically the Office Suite), people, on the whole, are comfortable with it's usability.

Then there are folks who are skeptical of anything MS (like me) and prefer different things (Lotus Notes over Outlook, Firefox over IE, etc). This latter group of folks is growing, and google wants a piece of that pie. Have for ages.

i could be way off base here, but it seems to me the only reason google helped with firefox was to chip away from internet explorers domination until they could build their own browser. but i cant imagine them having a problem making it popular

I've flipped through some of the add-ons for Firefox and never saw the use for any of them. For actually surfing the web on my web browser, Safari has always been faster, and the cosmetics of it are a lot less cluttered than Firefox, especially the new one.

I think the Safari 4*dev beta is miles better than Firefox 3 on OSX. It's way faster, and it has a great UI. Firefox's UI seems to cluttered- it isn't Web 2.0 enough for me.

Firefox completely PWNS IE.

Flock is a pretty cool browser too. It's based on Firefox, and it's the perfect Web 2.0 browser.

Okay Chrome is available, here I am surfing on Bluray.com with Chrome

It's light and does not look too bad but I'll have to see in the middle and long run to decide whether I really like it

The address bar is also the Google search bar. Just type right in it the search words.
