wow

effing WB.
Damn you WB! damn you all to hell!!

What sucks is that they probably aren't gonna do a damn thing about it. Even their specs information on the back of the cases are lazy. It states Special features "may be in standard definition". I noticed this on other WB cases like Smallville. What a bunch of lazy asses.

just download it as a wmv file and use videora to rip it your ipod. it's super easy to do and shouldn't take too, too long.

Fox and Lionsgate both use iTunes-compatible forms of Digital Copy. (Yep, there's more than one kind of Digital Copy and no set standard; it's up to the studio whether it'll work on your iPod or not.)

I really hate how the digital copies don't have any standards for playback guarantee. It's up to the individual studios, to provide them for each operating system, etc. So, a studio that's owned by an electronics/ computer maker (like Sony or Disney- kinda), can pick it so you have to use their equipment. What's next, am I soon only going to be able to watch Sony movies on a Sony Blu-ray player (which I do have, but that's beside the point), or the Disney digital copies only going to work with ipods and macs (which again, I do own, but it's the basic idea I'm getting at). Plus, what I really don't get is that almost- if not all the titles with non- itunes digital copies, are avalible in the itunes store! So you have to pay an extra 20 bucks on top of the 30 you just spent on the damn Blu-ray! What bastards are working in Hollywood these days!

Bastards who don't want Steve Jobs to charge one across-the-board iTunes Store price for all their movies.
Warner didn't want to, and went running to Amazon Unbox. (Which used WMV, which Bill Gates told them would catch on.)
Sony didn't want to, and thought they could still make "iPod Killer" PlaysForSure devices. (Which use WMV, which Bill Gates told them would catch on.)

...I believe the operative words are, "It's their funeral".
Let this be a lesson to Stubbornness, and to trusting Bill Gates to make media formats.

Please tell me what you posted is just a rough draft of what you sent Warners, and you did not send what you typed here.

Given the number of spelling and grammatical errors, along with the non business format of the letter Warners is going to think Blu-ray Disc users are 13 years old with 6th grade educations.

Dont worry, I sent one too....... which has much better grammar. I also pointed out that if you all open that little booklet thats stuck to the cover slip of your blu-rays and open it you will find that the first sentance in the book is "Compatible with iTunes and Windows Media devices." You can then look at the front of this booklet reading "bonus digital copy of the film included with the purchase of this disc. Open here for full restrictions."

You may naturally understand the introductory sentance in the list of "restrictions" to describe it that iTunes and Windows Media devices are compatible..... ALL of them. Two interesting points to this are 1. Any iTunes compatible video at digital copy resolutions are compatible with AT LEAST the Ipod Touch, but yet iTunes wont even import the digital copy at all.......... meaning it's not compatible at all. The second point is that it says SPECIFICALLY "devices." Software is not a device, so a device that is supported by the two softwares mentioned in their "restrictions" will be covered, like the primary iTunes device...... the Ipod.

And of course then it says "Restrictions and limitations may apply" which means they'll do what they want and they reserve the right to make up new excuses as they come to them. This AFTER the front of the booklet said that the INSIDE of the booklet would have a FULL LIST of restrictions! Personally I want to petition on the side of FOX to reclaim the distribution rights to Watchmen. If I have to put up with this kind of quality negligence with THAT movie I'll be royally pissed.

Nope. Being the slackers that they are, I don't expect to get a response.

WB can burn in hell at this point. I am sick of dealing with their crap all the time and I hope they lose the rights to The Watchmen.

I always feel like Apple users are abused and disregarded. "Oh, you use apple, i'm so sorry". I hate that.
iTunes is the best player I have ever used, and macs are great too! But enough about that, I don't want a format war here. I think ALL digital downloads should be compatible with iTunes since it is the number 1 music player in the world, and ipods, as well as the other main competitors, like WMV. I mean, how hard is it to stick 2 2GB copies of a movie on a disc that can hold 9GB?

With the recent iAccessory craze, AND a reported mass-mutiny against Vista toward the good reviews for 10.5 Leopard, one tech critic recently dared ask the unutterable:
"It's twenty-five years later...Has Apple finally WON?"

Default No response from Warner either

I haven't heard anything either from Warner. My friend submitted a ticket the same day as I did and he hasn't heard anything either. Absolutely ridiculous.

I'm tempted to file a Better Business Bureau complaint on it. I guess give them a little bit longer in case they're trying to work something out with Apple to give us a free download (one can wish).
