Frinds and I have had an in depth conversation about Disney movies. Now don't get me wrong I like moct of them but there are underlying things in just about all of them. The Villian always has something wrong with them and usually has a foreign sounding accent. Look at The Lion King(Scar) murders his brother, Little mermaid(Ursella) others already mentioned. In my opinion a lot of Disney and Pixar movies have stuff in them that I wouldn't want a small child watching. I remember when I first saw Toy Story(which I loved), I thought why is there no Father. In Finding nemo the little guy loses his mom and is born with a gimp fin(handicapped).
Bambi(hunter kills parent). Another thing in Lion King(crossdressing). I am pretty open minded but why do they need that stuff in a supposed family movie. Tarzan, you can clearly see the shadow of the bad guy getting strangled with the vines. There is a ton of violence in every Disney movie I've seen. That's just some of the stuff I've noticed over the years.
Just my 2 cents.

Disney films are by far from realistic and never should be used to teach kid's lessons. People even complained of racism from the Siamese cats in Lady in the Tramp. I was 5 when Little Mermaid hit so this along with Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Lion King were huge during my childhood. I also watched WWF wrestling and attended the live venue shows, and I turned out very well I'd like to think. As long as the child has a good solid home upbringing, I think Disney movies are fairly harmles. That's just my opinion though. I hardly ever think movies are to blame for any kind of perversion on a young person's mind whether it's a Disney movie or a horror film, though I'm not saying it's okay to let a five year-old watch a Freddy Krueger slasher flick--not because they'd think it's okay to kill people, but because it'd scare the crap out of them.

You should read what I wrote again. I did start off by saying I liked these movies. The fact is there are things in all of these movies and they are done for a reason. I was simply stating what I noticed and then here comes the insults. I think you ought to learn how to communicate better. Did I insult you in some way? I don't think so. So why would you snap at me for what I posted? Well I will chalk it up to the fact that some people just like to Jump on others when they don't agree. Such is life

You are correct, these innuendos have been edited out since transfer to DVD....which I currently own most of. But make no mistake, speculation or mere coincidence, I have witnessed them as have many other people.

Plus, Disney movies are just entertainment. In my opinion, I think it's perfectly acceptable to let children watch these Disney movies mentioned. Let them have their imaginations and live with their heads up in the clouds because pretty soon they'll learn that life can really suck sometimes. So they should be able to enjoy their childhood for as long as they can before adult responsibilities are awaiting them. It's why sometimes I get nostalgic for the old Disney classics... because they take me back to a time where I had no worries and when I was just a kid. I think every kid should be able to experience this before they're burdened with their first breakup, mortgages, the complexity of death, etc. If we all stayed so rooted in reality, we'd never have the blossoming imaginations that are responsible for bringing us some of the best films of all time.

Now, if we get back on track to 'worst children's movies,' I think there are far worse candidates for the sole reason alone being the MOVIE just SUCKED (i.e. Scooby Doo).

Ha I completely agree its perfectly acceptable for children to watch Disney movies...I was just noting what I found amusing in them...sorry, I went off on a tangent and shifted thread topics...I apologize.

It's ok man... I wasn't necessarily saying you thought they were bad per say... I've just heard a lot of people over the years criticize Disney movies for sending the wrong messages so I sort of went off on a tangent myself.

Once again, you need to read what I wrote. It's called an opinion and you insulted me for it. There was no reason for it other than that's the way you choose to communicate. Trust me when I tell you I have a thick skin. I'm also 15 years older than you are. Maybe that's why I don't just throw out insults to people that disagree with me. So you can do what you like but you should learn how to have an adult conversation. Maybe that will come with age. Have a great day.
