I've spent about $300 on a DVD before, so I'd say I've learned my lesson on that, and those days are past...... I probably wouldn't be willing to spend more than $100 to $125 for a single blu-ray title..... and to warrant that price tag, it'd have to be a limited release, of a movie I must own.... Citizen Kane for instance.......
for "normal" titles.... I'm not willing to spend more than $30.... that's usually getting the $34.99 MSRP titles online for about $30, and I don't do that often.... As an avid collector of movies, I've become very patient, and disciplined in my "old" age (god I'm turning 30 in less than 2 months ![]() |

I don't think about it that way. I think in terms of the movie that I want, not the price. So, I guess my answer is whatever price the movie I want costs.

I try to keep them below $20 on average. Sometimes there is something really special, then prices can skyrocket without remorse.

![]() Owa's thoughts on the matter seem right-on in my book...... that's a great way to look at it. P.S. rumor has it that "Dune" will have a $1,000 MSRP ![]() |

Trying to keep the average/title around $20. For a single title though, $25 is close to my max.
I wish the studios would understand if they knocked $5 off the price sales would probably increase exponentially. There are titles I bought on sale or BOGO that I would have never paid full price for. I still have not ordered Iron Man and I am not buying the DVD either. If the new release maximum price was closer to DVD new release pricing, I am sure I would buy more. Example, BB has SatC for $14.99 on DVD, but the BD is $27.99. So the DVD is $5 off its normal price, but the BD is only $3. Sorry no sale. The DVD is discounted 25%, but BD only 10%. And the stores wonder why there is only activity in the BD aisle when there are sales. The gouging of the BD consumer has to stop if they want a chance to resell their catalogs again. |

Without Best Buy Reward Certificates,Amazon Gift Certificates, Mail-In Rebate offers, or some kind of coupon, I normally try not to spend more than $20 +tax on movies I want. I have no problem waiting a few week/months to pick up it up. Of course I pay $25-27 for a title if it’s during a B2G1 sale, when the average price is $16-$19 per movie.

I don't really care the cost. If I want it, and I have the money, I'll buy it. I mean I won't go out and spend $50 on a disc for no reason, but if it's a movie I like or am interested in, then I'm fine with the $30-$35 price tag. It's cheaper than a video game, and I'll probably enjoy it for just as long if it's got a few special features :P

$20 including tax/shipping is my ceiling, and I am now up to 190 BDs. If I cannot get them for $20 or less than from the store or Amazon, then I will get them used from eBay. I have yet to pay more than $20 for ANYTHING other then set, and have no intention of doing so. Sometimes I have to wait a few weeks to get it used, but it is worth it. If the studios want my money then they MUSH lower the price, there wise they are losing money as I am buying a BD from someone else who has already watched it. I would prefer to get it new, but am more interested in my bottom line than the studios.
