I know of lots of people who have headsets who just don't use them. On the 360, I've played online and have not used my headset 99% of the time. |

I played the Demo and this game isn't for me.
The game took awhile to even start any gameplay. When it finally started it went straight to fighting. It is a RTS and the gfx look good. I didnt try the voice command set up as it seemed it would of taken awhile to complete. For the ones interested in RTS games this would be your game, but for me I will pass. |

from what ive gathered, you have to 'set' the voice commands before gameplay.i believe you WILL need a headset to maximize the game. unlike cod4 or other games its an option.you will end up commanding certain troops et al, using the voice command giving er... orders to em.
you can view the gameplay thru the psn stores downloads, they have videos there highlighting the features and the options. to be honest, i prefer the turn based strategy games over this, id be massacred on realtime... |

WOOOOT!
I checked my mail today and I was 1 of the 1,000 to get the EndWar Swag Pack. Very nice. I'm giving the t-shirt (looks awesome) to my neighbor's son who's b-day is this weekend. |

Ditto here with the Swag Pack. Was totally surprised to get it. This looks like this is gonna be a killer game. I have my PSP and PS3 editions pre-ordered. While I don't have a headset, yet for the PS3, I ordered the version that includes a headset on gamestop. so UBI did work around that. Plus remember you can use the controller as well if you don't wanna do voice control.

Odd enough during the demo I always did worse when I used the headset and did better when only using the controller... Sometimes you want to position people in a specific way, I guess I love to micromanage

Wow. I can't believe there's no chat on this game at all.
I finally got EndWar in the mail yesterday and have been playing it. I'm through the Prelude to War series and am starting WW3 now. I'll play in the Theater of War (online collaborative war) later. So far I'm enjoying this game a lot. I think the $13 for the strategy guide was a good investment as it has a 2-page layout on voice commands and some good tips. I use both the locator and voice command. Even used my first WMD today. ![]() |

One of my Socom squad mates got it and we played last night online. BTW, here are the official forums. It's mostly talk about the online ToW. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/8911019745 I'm playing solo right now. The hardcore mode is frustrating me to no end. It started out okay, but I'm on a mission that is ridiculous. However, on easy mode, I rolled right through the game. ![]() |

My impressions. I don't speak clear enough for the headset, artillery rocks, gunships suck, the circle of combat effectiveness takes a bit of getting used to, I hate raids, WMDs are entirely too much fun, it needs a patch for total domination versus controlling 3 capitals/28 territories, artillery REALLY rocks, PBI are good if you have cover, learn to love the square button, hate how half the trophies are online.
All in all, a wonderful game, it's got some minor flaws (mostly headset voice recognition), it's a lot of fun once you get the hang of how combat works, and how to control your people effectively. |

I don't like all the online trophies either. I'll play online, but I'd rather see something like 75%+ solo and then some online.
I didn't feel the combat circle took long to understand--perhaps about 4-6 battles. By the time I beat the game, I was moving without a hitch. Of course, hardcore mode is another matter. That's tough. But, I think this is a personal thing. There's a lot to take in. I spent a little too much time reading and stuff before playing. ![]() |
