Yes. You need either a newer receiver with HDMI inputs capable of receiving PCM thru HDMI, since you've got a PS3 which decodes the HD tracks for you and then sends it to the receiver.

OR

You buy a different Blu-ray player that has 7.1ch analog outputs and decoding capabilities, and then you'll still have to buy a new receiver, but cheaper receiver that has 7.1ch analog inputs and doesn't need HDMI inputs.

You are much better off keeping the PS3 and getting a newer receiver. Nothing fancy. Depends how much you want to spend though. But, the receiver will NOT need to decode anything like TrueHD or DTS HDMA.

Here is the TX-SR576. It is Onkyo's entry level HDMI receiver. I just googled real quick and this is probably not the best deal around, but this is what you should be looking for.

Also, you might find an excellent deal on last years models. Anything like the 605 and up will do just fine for you and thats what most people on this board would recommend.

This particular panny HTIB has an input made only for optical inputs called D-IN. Select this input in your sources of your panny inputs from your remote or receiver SLOWLY. they jump quite fast. I think its DVD, AUX, FM, AM, IPOD, D-in, and SD are the choices you can select. Choose D-in for your BD player! good luck
