I think the 500,000 to 1,000,000 figure is pretty realistic.

Don't get me wrong, TDK is an amazing movie and it is historical...but Titanic DESERVES that top spot forever until a movie better than it comes out which is hard since it has not been done in over ten years. TDK was AMAZING, but Titanic is a classic in every sense.

And I'm going with above 1,000,000 or VERY close. You KNOW it will beat Iron Man by a ton. I just hope they'll have enough copies. I'll probs get up maddd early to get it or go to Walmart at midnight.

Almost everyone who owns a Blu-Ray player will get it. I mean there is nothing about this movie not to like. Great Story, good action and some terrifying stuff from the Joker Above 1 million is a given, above 5 million seems a little un-realistic.

Considering its the most anticipated release of the year, it's xmas season, and blu-ray players will be HOT gifts this xmas ... I say about 1 million. Will def beat Iron Man.

I will not buy this, I wish it could just go away.
So people can focus on other deserving titles such as Hellboy 2 & Narnia.

i haven't seen this movie yet, but with the hype it better b worth the time. i'm a HUGE fan of action and i did like the first batman. but this will sell BIG TIME. i don't think it will hit a $1M copies in the 1st week but i know it will b close..

one reason i want it to sell well is cause i hope this force the studios to act quickly on JP, STAR WARS, LOTR, TRON. this TDK will bring ALOT of people to BLU....

I'm estimating more than 1 million in a week and 3 million copies in X-max 2008.

in other words, the second week of its release Dark Knight will reach 3 million copies.WHY i'm saying this...

PS3 users plus new one just for curiosity of this Movie on BD.

Players getting hotter and cheaper ,so everyone can afford to buy a new player especially when The dark Knight is around the corner. The first option for a customer entering High Definition will Be Dark Knight to go with a hot Player whether it is a PS3 or a Blu-ray Player.

Count on this

It would be nice if WB priced this one aggressively. Like maybe $22.99 on release week.

I'd say between 500,000 and 1,000,000. But over 1,000,000 is definitely possible. A lot of people will be buying multiple copies of this one.

I wonder how many hours/days it will take TDK to pass Iron Man at the #1 spot on "My Collection" at this site???

That would be great! If it can do at least 1/3 of what the DVD sales will be that would be HUGE!

Sorry, unless you own stock in Warner, I don't understand why you give a crap which is the highest grossest film.
dude, you'd be surprised at what some people give a crap about on this site...

and Warner would never leave Dark Knight in the theatre for 36 weeks cause
there going to release to blu ray before Christmas, when Titanic was out
it wasn't the same turn around time on movies, and Vhs didn't make the
type of money for the studios that dvd/blu rays do..

oh and i'm saying 1.2 million first week
