Whatever turns you on. Me, I've been bored to tears by the static, shallow, pretentious, noisy, monotonous, self-important crap that Hollywood's been coughing up for nearly 20 years now.

Heyy Babyy transfer/blu-ray is not bad at all. But it is not in the excellent category as OSO and Saawariya. It is a reasonable blu-ray transfer. I have seen many Hollywood transfers worse than Heyy Babyy.

Many people love Bollywood mainly because of the Bollywood's expert presentation of emotions and the capability of emotional engagement of the viewer which Hollywood cannot match. Due to this reason there are many people who watch Bollywood more than Hollywood (outside India).

Strengths and weaknesses apply to both Hollywood as well as Bollywood.

do you guys think classics like Pathar Panchali will ever make it to bluray and would it make them any better?

I know something like Shatranj Ke Khiladi aka The Chess Players would definitely benefit from the transfer.

The film was not much appreciated and your opinion is the majority opinion.

It does seem like a lot of kids these days can't muster up much emotional response beyond the stilted bombast of Peter Jackson or the creepy infantilism of Tim Burton.

Not sure whether it would be released with English subtitles?

I don't understand the logic... Allowing Amazon France to start getting pre-orders of this movie, yet one of their biggest audiences is in the UK outside of India.. so why isn't it on Amazon.co.uk??! (No offense to the French/Bollywood market)

Bit of a joke this blu-ray release schedule for bollywood movies.

watch "Shot In Bombay" and then talk to me about "expert presentation".... they can't even get their actors on the set on time. The director has little or no power, he's just trying to get the movie finished as soon as possible. every take to him is "mind blowing" in order to feed the superstars ego.

As far as "emotional engagement of the viewer" goes that is because 95% of the viewers are poverty stricken people who go to the movies to watch the "flash and dhamaka" to escape their own difficult lives. they don't want art, they want to escape and that is all.

I been going to Mumbai for years on end and my parents just left it so I know about it from personal experience.

the actors don't even know the script because they are usually filming 3 or 4 movies at the same time and run from one set to the next. did you know Saif Ali Khan hired a helicopter so he could get from one set to the next as quickly as possible?

this is not a criticism, it's just the way things are there.

I wish some good indian classics by masters like Satyajit Ray were released on BD so the world could be exposed to the beauty of true Indian cinema and not just the "masala" of every other movie.

Heyy Babyy (Eros) blu-ray is listed in the upcoming releases section to be released on the 3rd Feb 09! Heyy Babyy was the first Bollywood blu-ray and it is out for about 10 months now.

It is an error that needs to be fixed and hope that there would be another Eros release on that date.

The third Tamil blu-ray Billa is out from Ayngaran. Although specs doesn't indicate, it most likely has 5.1 Dolby Digital. This was the case for the previous blu-rays (from Ayngaran) Villu and Shivaji. The English subtitles are within the frame which supports flat-panel zoomers and CIH.

Staring: "Ultimate Star" Ajith, Nayanthara, Nameetha and others
Director: Vishnuwardan
Music: Yuvan Shankar
Produced: Ananda Pictures & Ayngaran International
Video: 1080 P High Definition 16X9/ 2.35:1 AVC:4
Audio: Tamil 5.1 Uncompressed (48 KHz/ 16bit) 6.4 Mbps
Subtitle: English
3RD Tamil original Blu Ray Disc

Ayngaran is really contributing to Indian blu-ray take-up. It is a shame that Bollywood is lagging behind, especially Yash Raj.
