If they are MetalPaks, then the ones from Germany are also likely going to be MetalPaks.

It's unclear. The pictures on Amazon.de is definitely a SteelBook. However these early releases from Switzerland is definitely a MetalPak, and not a SteelBook. I'm keeping my preorder since I know I can return this to Amazon.de for a full refund including any cost for return shipping.

I don't have them to take pictures of. That photo came from somebody else but you can see the cover art here:

Usually Amazon.de is accurate in Steelbook cases so I think we'll be safe. Nonetheless I'll be keeping mine cuz damn that pic.

Just curious about this coz I ordered this title too.... I keep hearing you guys say that steelbook is a trademark... since amazon.de is listing this as a steelbook, is this mis-leading? Are we entitled to return this since it is a mistake on their part?

EDIT: I sent an email to amazon.de yesterday to tell them there is a difference between a metalpak and a steelbook. This is especially so when SteelBook packaging is a registered trademark so we will see what they say. Also I noticed the picture on post #1 is certainly a steelbook as you can sort of see the plastic spine in the middle.

Here is the response from amazon.de. This is the first time I got such a rude response. See the last sentence.
I'm sorry, but I cannot offer any additional discounts on completed orders. The difference between Metal- and Steelbook doesn't affect the edition of the movie itself.

I recognise that you have a choice of retailers. Amazon.de offers deep discounts on many thousands of items, and I hope you'll be able to take advantage of these discounts in the future.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.de. Please note that we will no longer discuss this issue any more.
Part of my email to them:
It is important that you refer this matter/issue back to whoever is responsible for the description of the titles listed on your website and ensure that they are updated with the correct description. This is important because "SteelBook" is a registered trademark and you cannot label titles that are not in "SteelBook" package using the word "SteelBook". As movie collectors, we need to be confident that when we order a movie listed in a specific package, that we can trust that your description is accurate.
What do you guys think? To say that they don't want to discuss this issue any more when there is clearly an error on their part does not sound right to me. I am bit peeved at their reponse. Has anyone wrote an email to complain?

That was rude.

I really don't know what to say, because technically, the information is wrong, it's like selling a Paperback to a person who ordered a Hardcover, you know?

Yeah well.. I couldn't help myself.. I wrote them another email with a different analogy.. I said it is like going to a BMW ( I'm sure u guys can guess why I chose this ) dealer, paid for a BMW and being handed a Toyota.. Is it the same thing? If they still don't get this, then I don't think they will ever get it..

They responded back with an apology citing a misunderstanding and told me I can return this title back.. No mention of paying for return postage, but I believe they should, correct? Mind you, I don't think I will bother since it is a lot of hassle to return one lousy title.. And since this is such a cheap title, it is okay to keep.

I keep emphasising in the two emails that they really need to be addressing the incorrect labelling of their titles with the word "SteelBook" when some of them clearly are not.. They totally neglect/ignore to mention this issue in their second response... Suffice to say, I don't think they are treating this as an issue at all.. I give up...

Perhaps the trademark owner should be sending amazon.de a letter to say they are infringing trademark violations? This is most definitely false and mis-leading advertising. May have been unintentional initially, but it certainly is now if they continue to do nothing about it now that I have told them twice.. I hope some of you have done the same?

I still like to know where jwbudd got the picture on the first post, that picture is most definitely a steelbook picture, agree?

Haha.. You are right too.. I honestly did not notice.. I just went and checked on the amazon.de page... clicked the large image version and it is indeed identical... This makes me wonder though.. Was it initially a real SteelBook release?

Don't blame amazon on this! They only advertised the Information they were given from the Publisher (HMH). Everybody should bomb HMH with Mails for their false Advertising:

http://www.hmh.de/produkte/ansicht/p...ray_Steelbook/

Actually, I think Scanevo should send them a nice Mail
