I can honestly say I don't care either way if they go away or not. Here lately I have been going to Best Buy for my needs as my local one is the best one I have ever been to as far as friendliness, helpfulness, and allowing me to pm and stack coupons. CC is always deserted, never has anyone willing to help, store here smells terrible.

circuit city lost me as a customer the first time i went in there.
I tried to buy my sony bravia tv there.... the workers haphazzardly and carelessly loaded it onto my truck.... then i didnt even get so much as a thank you... decided it wasnt worth it and got my money back told the manager why too... they didnt even seem to care... i went and bought it on amazon.com and got an extended warrenty from the local av botique.

CC is done and that's been made clear, but that's just the tip of the iceberg...

the owner of Sears/K Mart has a fascination with buying companies andbuilding them up and selling them...

the question is...who buys Sears/K Mart?.....my best bet is Wal Mart because of the type of stores they are and they suit Wal Mart a little more....

so this can actually get worse.....err will get worse unless a new company steps in with an attitude like Best Buy did in the early 90's....(that's when I 1st heard of them anyways)

stay tuned...

Since most areas in the USA no longer have high-end stores I am afraid that Best Buy will become the new high-end stores and Walmart will become the new Circuit City. Perhaps as consumers we should try and shop at Circuit City this holiday season so that we the consumers will still have a choice in electronic retail. If one day Circuit City were to close all their stores then the only choice in many cities would be Walmart and Best Buy. Of course there is Sears and Kmart and stores like that but Walmart electronics department keeps growing with several low priced under $1,000 1080P displays.

Here are some interesting links to read (Click on the red link to read articles)

UPDATED: Breaking: Circuit City Closing 155 Stores (This will happen on or before December 31st unless Circuit City were to get a huge surge in sales and profits that would make them change their business plan to close stores. Very unlikely that will happen in this economy.

Circuit City's Stock Is Too Low For The NYSE (Circuit City's stock is in danger from being delisted from the NYSE since it is hanging around 26 cents which is below the $1 requirement). Unless someone purchases Circuit City they may go completely under one day.

Ya but BB is going to half to start carry more choices for receivers in the future. they need to carry onkyo and pioneer's (i know they have the elites). seems like all they have is HK, sony, then in the magnolia area they havve denon & pioneer elite

i hope that circuit city doesn't close its doors permanently. they were my preferred place to shop for electronics and stuff. i thought they always had the better store, better selection, prices, and warranties. if they end folding it will be a shame. what will be left? nothing really. best buy and wal mart suck big time. target can't even really compete. it's just sad really. first tower and now circuit city. what an absolute shame!

That sucks. My store in Waco still remains open for the moment. And we need to keep it, we don't have many good Electronic stores. Sometimes I have to go to H-E-B Plus for good Blu-Ray deals.
