(At least the thread hasn't gotten around to aforementioned "symbolic" praises of "But at least it had an important THEME!")

Yeah, I loved this movie for good laughs and will probably get it when it hits blu.

I really want Office Space. I will get it first day because I still have my letter-boxed widescreen DVD.

Nah--I'll still probably get another plug in for M.T. Anderson's teen novel "Feed", the next time some slacker kid says "But the movie's so TRUE!..No one's ever made such a bold American statement before! "

(Or just some whine about zombified Office Spacies praising their movie to the skies just because they hate their own job--
You generally tend to hear things from them like "But the movie's so TRUE!...I hate my job too, and know what it's like!" and not more specific movie-related criticisms, like, say, "Mike Judge is such an experienced director--Just listen to those funny-voices!...Those actors must've had fun pretending to be live-action King of the Hill characters!" )

Actually, I like both movies because they succeed at being funny, to varying degrees.

You are the only person I've ever heard speak of this Mike Judge internet culture war raging on the internets.

I like the movies because they are funny.

I actually thought Office Space was not that great, but that Idiocracy was frequently genius. It's not great cinema art, but I thought it was really funny.

I also am not a fan of Beavis and Butthead or King of the Hill.

I netflixed this movie due to the thread. Hilarious. Beef supreme and President Camacho were great. I wish it would come to blu.

some info:

According to the Austin American-Statesman, 20th Century Fox, the film's distributor, did nothing to promote the movie — while posters were released to theatres, no movie trailers, television ads, or press kits for media outlets were provided. The film was not screened for critics. Lack of concrete information from 20th Century Fox led to speculation that Fox may have actively tried to keep the film from being seen by a large audience, while fulfilling a contractual obligation for theatrical release ahead of a DVD release, according to Ryan Pearson of AP. In the New York Times Dan Mitchell argued that Fox might be shying away from a cautionary tale about low-intelligence dysgenics. This was a result of the film's anti-corporate message, noting that in the film Starbucks now delivers handjobs, and the motto of Carl's Jr. has devolved from "Don't Bother Me. I'm Eating." to "F*** You! I'm Eating!" Also in the film, a Carl's Jr. vending machine cheats a customer, Fuddruckers' name gradually morphs into "Buttf****rs", the fictional Brawndo corporation buys the F.D.A. and the F.C.C, and the Fox News Channel is depicted in unflattering newscasts (20th Century Fox, which distributed the film, and the Fox News Channel are both owned by the Rupert Murdoch-controlled News Corporation).

I was just talking to a friend today about this movie, moaning how it hasn't come out in BD yet. This thread is looking lonely.

Fox essentially ignored every Comedy or Drama type movie from 06-07 with respect to a BD release. Mind you they never even bothered with a domestic edition with "Borat"...

I would definitely buy it and Fox is hopefully not stupid enough to never make a blu-ray release for it because they know they would make money.

Default Awesome movie - Idiocracy

This movie was hilarious... my rating would be an 10/10. Watched it on cable last night twice. Been removed off Netflix recently (would have given it 5 stars)... all the good stuff gets taken off Netflix.lol. If it were on Blu-ray, it would be one of the few movies I would buy. Certainly better than the only movie playing now called "Ass".lol.
If they don't put it on Blu-ray, well then... their just stupit and I'm gonna kick them in the nuts.

Cheers

ps. drinking a 'Brawndo'
pss. I would watch this movie again and again until I get sick of it.

Default Idiocracy should be on blu-ray!

Underrated and unknown, but is a cult classic already...it definitely deserves a blu release and I'd be first in line to buy it.

And now that Silicon Valley is a hit, if Fox was smart they'd use some of this HBO know-how and put a Mike Judge blu-ray product on the market immediately.

Damn it kind of makes sense about Fox not promoting this though, sad.
