Oh man, that would be awesome. Those are the main reasons I rarely go to the theater anymore. Probably going to the IMAX to see Madagascar 2 this weekend because my girlfriend wants to see it. I made her wait at least 2 weeks so it wouldn't be too crowded with kids.

I don't even pay attention to what my theaters charge. Probably around $10 I guess.

$12.50 no matter what time or day. Another sign that Canada is getting the shank.

I don't actually spend anything when getting a ticket. I have an unlimited Pass that allows me access to all releases over here for barely 16.95 Euros / Month which is the price of 2 tickets.
Since I see on average 10 movies / month I end up paying about 1.7 Euros per movie sometimes even less if I see more movies.

I have gone to about two movies in the past three years. Prices are ridiculous. If I even go to the movies, I usually go to Costco and buy the "2 tickets for $15" pack they have, then use them at the theatre...

Quote:
Adult (Sun - Thurs) $11.50
Matinee (M-F all shows before 5:30 p.m. Sat/Sun/Holidays Before 2:00 p.m.) $9.75
Child $8.75
Senior $8.75

When my wife and I go to a theater (NOT very often), our routine is:

1. Drive to the mall with the Giga-Plex theater
2. Find a parking place near the exit to the parking lot
3. Enter mall and buy tickets for the show-time we want at ten bucks a shot. Honest. Exactly $10.00 each.
4. Enjoy a leisurely meal at a restaurant in the mall
5. Go to the theater riight after our meal (no need for overpriced popcorn, etc.)
6. Get aggravated at inane commercials run until showtime
7. Become incensed at 20 min. of trailers being screened at what was billed as "show" time.
8. Attempt to enjoy feature presentation after the commercials and trailers blew the warm glow we had entered the theater with.

Theater managers are ruining the experience and driving away customers like us. First, ditch the commercials. In addition, I think the trailers should be run in the half-hour leading up to showtime.

(Oops. Sorry about the rant there. )

I'm a manager at one...woo! If I didn't have that job I would be broke lol. I just love seeing movies at the theater. Plus I can run my own showings late at night with nobody to bug me. Think about it, a whole 400 seat, and auditorium seating theater to yourself or a couple of more employees....bliss.

lol
That's not our fault.....we are forced to run them by our corporate offices, plus we do get some revenue off of them. We don't make anything with the tickets.
The world of Business sucks, I know. It's just the way it works, sorry the commercials frustrate you, but our commercials run before that start time of the movie. Otherwise you'd be starting at nothing while you grab a good seat 30 minutes early. Plus, people actually complain if the commercials aren't on either. As far as trailers, there are people who complain about them being too long and that we should start them early, and then we get people who complain that we should start them right on time because they want to see them....we can please everyone. Nobody thinks alike and that's why customer service is a tough job.

Where do you live dude?

I'm sure some people wouldn't mind befriending you just to pay money to get in on a late night showing {or a job at that theatre *LOL*}

$6... but you only get that price if you see a movie before noon Which I actually prefer. I usually go around 11:00 - 11:30.. Its $9 dollars between noon and 5 and 10 bucks for a 'prime time' movie.
