There's no place that sells used discs, is there?

Seems i can barely find any on ebay, either. Trying to find a bargain in Europe seems impossible.

Usually HMV if they remember to change the prices before they release from the bog standard £17.99 they enter for each title when they put it in the database. Helps that I get 10% student discount.

More recently I have been buying from Lovefilm alot at they are usually cheapest and they have had lots of 10% discount days recently as well. Example Mamma Mia for £12.50 and Dark Knight at £13.50.

I love that store, they always have offers on like 2 for £18 on blu-rays too I ordered on a sunday night and it came tuesday first thing, excellent service. Although I do admire Play and Amazon for their prices!

I recently checked the comparative value of Euro and Great British Pound to find that now, 1€ = £0,92 when a few years ago £1 would equal to about 1,5€...

All that to say that buying BDs from the UK (mostly Amazon) has become so much more cheaper comparatively to France. Especially because shipping cost is low and the time it takes to come is virtually identical.

Wow, that thread takes me back. I miss Play.com, those years when Zavvi had actual bargains every week on boutique Blu-Rays, and the Arrow 5 for £30 offers.

At the moment most UK releases I get from hmv with 20% off at a bare minimum it's a no brainer. Unless rarewaves works out cheaper by 20p or something.

I thought Play.com had made a comeback for a minute there! Used to use them loads back in the day.

These days it's usually Amazon or HMV, occasionally Rarewaves or direct from Arrow, Eureka and 88 Films.

For physical shops usually Fopp with the occasional HMV and charity shop purchase. Can't remember the last time I got a disc in CeX.

Depressing to see how much choice we used to have compared to now. B&M and online, both nuked in recent years.

Now, it's either HMV (for the 20% discount), direct from the distributor for boutique releases if I'm feeling altruistic, or as a last resort Amazon.

B&M - well, it's HMV isn't it, cos there's nowhere else left...

There's a few very niche shops still selling physical video product such as the BFI Shop in the National Film Theatre complex at Southbank London.
