3 Other Users Have The Same ProblemPosted by jjoelg9 on Nov 07, 2008
i have the same problem, I just bought my lcd tv set a few months ago and I paid alot of money for it. I had it set on 4.3 ratio and now I have these burned out image on the left and right side of the screen.my tv was still under warranty no where in the manual does it say not to set my setting on my lcd at 4.3 b/c it could caused a image burn. in fact why would they have this feather on there if its going to cause an image burn. I want to start a class action lawsuit against the manufactors of lcd tv for not disclosing this information regarding the image burn in there manuals. Maybe if we fight together we can get them to replace each set. please email me your problems with your lcd and lets go after these corporations. you can email me at jjoelg0@hotmail.com. my name is joe. thanks. they might not listen to one person, but if we can get thousands in thhis class action suit, maybe we can make a difference. I have that exact problem with my LCD tv. When i used to use my computer with it i would always go into the 4:3 aspect ratio and then one day when i was in 16:9 ratio i saw a feint black line down the left side of my tv exactly where the edge of the 4:3 ratio line. So im pretty sure that it does cause burn in.
Im trying everything to get rid of this damn line as its annoying me know i have noticed it! At the minute im using the JscreenFix which flashes different coloured pixels and might get rid of the burn, but still no luck
Please help us, we need a solution!
Bye
Sean

My Samsung Ln-T4061 has the same issue and I've only had it for 3 months. There are faint black lines that appear in 16:9 viewing and Samsung is telling me that burn-in actually DOES occur in LCD's, despite all technology reports saying they don't.

I wouldn't consider viewing times extreme (since there is frequent channel changes, aspect ratio views and down time) so if this is something not covered by warranties, what's the best way to fix this?

Um, read the post just ahead of yours.
See it? Click on it. Now you've seen burn in on an LCD.
K? Later.

Also after 100 hours, most plasma's are no longer susceptible to burn in...
and new modern day plasma's have built in features to help prevent burn in..
dont be afraid to buy a TV because of burn in... buy the tv you feel has the best picture. which in most cases will be a plasma, samsung, pioneer or panasonic. be careful of the samsung 550 and 650's though... they have major issues.. want to know more. pm or something... k later noobs
Obviously you missed the link posted in the thread above you.

And why is someone who just joined today calling people nubs/noobs? Not going to get you far around here....

Just buy an old tube type no-HD TV.
That way you wont be surprised with what you get.

Otherwise you may get burn in, image retention, explosions, mass hysteria, reversing the effects of gravity in any of the newer technology HDTV.
