Not sure when it ends, it's also unadvertised. You'd have to have them call B-Buster, or buy one and bring it back to B-Buy.

Picked this and Golden Compass up. They didn't believe me when I went to pick it up, and gave me a hard time when I asked them to scan it to see if it was truly 9.99... No big deal.

It's team work. Always got to keep an eye open for those Canadian deals, they are rare.

How about telling us about the specials before a customer beats you to the punch?

I picked up my copy last night, apparently informing employees at two Blockbuster locations about this deal for the first time:

Me: "Hi, do you have Kill Bill Vol. 1 on blu-ray available for sale?"
BB: "Let me check. [pause] Yes, we do. We have two copies..... and... [stunned silence].... apparently... it's $9.99...."

I didn't ask for it to be held for me because I was heading there right after work an hour later, but they were gone. I know the employees are blu-ray fans so I'm positive they picked it up. No worries, I just called another location:

Me: "Hi, do you have Kill Bill Vol. 1 on blu-ray available for sale?"
BB: "Let me check. [longer pause] Yes, we do. We have 2 copies.
Me: "How much is it?"
BB, pleasantly surprised: "wow, 10 bucks!"

I get one held and pick it up. We talk about the deal and find out I picked up the last one. The employee asked the other one when the other got sold, and he replied, "I took it".

I got the same reaction when I purchased Golden Compass. 'Wow only $10...' 'Yup that is why I am here' lol My first time going into blockbuster in about 4 years probably.

yeah i did know about the golden compass deal before hand but to be fair, only found out about the kill bill one when someone posted it here. i was surprised cuz when i had seen it at my store, it was priced at 19.99 (price not updated) thing about those kill bill price drops, us employees only find out 4 days before the price is suppose to drop so dont have much heads up on it unless its a huge promotion like golden compass or pans. so i had no clue until i scanned it to be doubly sure. i'll try to keep ahead of things more for you guys. hoping to get you the boxing day specials as soon as i know.

From now on you have to scan every blu ray at least once a week and then tell us the prices of every movie lol

Yeah, it was pretty much the same reaction at my store... after KBv1 was confirmed I immediately asked to have KBv2 checked, however the employee already beat me to the punch. Who knows, maybe they'll be more of these unadvertised sales in the near future.

There's a Blu enthusiast that works at the store I frequent, he is now dedicated to fish out these sales, or errors, I even think I convinced him to join this site.

I'll post more if I find anything out. Cheers.

I picked up Golden Compass and Kill Bill as well. I told the employee that the BBV web site should really list these deals. The employee told me I should complain to the Blockbuster marketing department. Well, yes, I could and probably will, but a request/complaint like this would carry a lot more weight if it came from a BBV store manager then a lowly customer like me.
Hint hint to all you BBV employees out there reading this.

I would think that
you -> calling your local Blockbuster store

is much faster than
you ->posting on blu-ray.com -> someone from Quebec reads post -> that same person checking Blockbuster himself -> posting a response to your post -> you reading it

Plus, you'd have to call them or go into a store anyway to see if they even have a copy available. Don't be afraid of the outside world!

(apologies if you're actually agoraphobic )
