Just because HD DVD is dead does not mean the discs and players will cease to function. Seriously, why settle for the Blu-ray which might have the main feature in 1080i and a burned-in IME, when you can get the HD DVD that was done proper? Before you jump on me and call me a "troll", I'm neutral. I am just stating the truth without the Blu-tinted fanboy goggles. Besides with all of the "firesales" going on right now, why not get the HD DVD fpr half price if you have a player?

You know every time anything related to HD DVD is mentioned in this forum, 90% of the membership responds with some of the most ignorant and amusingly asinine comments they could possibly pull out their asses. Leaves me with impression that the average age here is around 12-years-old. Thanks for proving me right.

Fear. Uncertainty. Doubt. FUD is always a product of misinformation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this thread about whether or not a corrected Blu-ray of Terminator 3 is available in stores today? Doesn't that mean that there was something with the original BD release? Someone suggested the HD DVD as a viable option, which it is, if your set-up allows for it. That's all. Since I have yet to upgrade any of the Terminator films from DVD, if the remastered Blu-ray sports better PQ that the existing HD DVD release, I would certainly consider it (does that make you feel better?). If not, I would take advantage of one of the many inventory liquidations taking place at retailers nationwide.

It is a known issue since late 2007: http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh..._Expected/1293

Most people on this forum prefer to buy Blu-ray, even when an HD DVD is also available.

However, if you don't have an HD DVD player (and you would have to be nuts to buy one now), and Warner releases a corrected version of T3, the most sensible choice is to buy the Blu-ray.

Grubert - thank you for being a rational person! At least you understand where I was coming from. I am well aware of this forum's preference, however most of the people here seem to very immature about the format "war" that Blu-ray one.

you can always get a big store to do something like that for you. Especially if you shop there a lot. If they told me I couldn't look at the new one, I just tell them to go pull up my reward zone history for the last month , then tell me that they can't let me preview it to ensure its quality

And about T3 at the store, they didn't have the new release version, only the old release that supposedly has been deleted from their systems.

I really don't understand why this best buy will get some of the new releases for the week and they won't get some others. I have yet to see The Amateurs at their store, plus a few others but I can't recall the titles :/

I sent mine back to Amazon a month ago stating it was defective and got a full refund including cost of shipping it back. The packaging states 1080p, it's 1080i so false advertising.

So, has anyone found this version of T3? And is it 1080p?

I'm still waiting for the 1080p version to come out before buying this movie.

Thanks.

Best Buy's website lists both versions (1080i & 1080p) as being backordered. This usually means that there is a hiccup in the "supplier to store" chain. It should be resolved soon.

My question is... how will we, the customers, know how to tell the difference in packaging so we don't buy the old version?

I was wondering this myself. When Fifth Element was re-mastered, Sony left the original discs on store shelves. But they made it easier to tell by having the PCM track listing on the back. Since T3 only had a DD track it will be more difficult to tell, unless Warner changed the cover.
