but the artists you mention aren't indicative of the 90's. or 90's pop. they got their start in the late 90's and moved on into the 2000's. most of the 90's pop was characterized by grunge, lilith fair bands, alternative music, vh1 triple a, and the like.

Listened to it on the way to work, Rhianna is better at doing electronic. Not bad but nothing I would play at a party or anything.

forgot to mention something. pop music as a genre is always changing from decade to decade. it's called pop because it is popular. and that incorporates so many fields. right now electronica and hip-hop/rap is part of the pop genre, because this decade is in love with it. as evidenced by the billboard top 100. hair metal was pop at one point. pop as a genre doesn't have a defined sound or anything. back on to spears though, i can't imagine anyone wanting to listen to her. but it takes all kinds in this world.

If you asked me how the new Metallica cd was I would laugh, I mean at least Brit has stayed true to her style. I have never listend to her but she stays true to her sound, and Metallica has turned into a bunch of *****es. I guess you could blame age? But Dream Theater is about the same age as Metallica and still rocking, but they have so much more talent than Metallica so I guess thats to their advantage.

she's stayed true to her style? and what would that be? the white trash skank type of style. no offense intended, but she's never had it and she never will. at least metalica are respectable musicians.

Yeah the new Metallica, I guess it's okay - when compared to the last (St. Anger), especially. I just could not get into St. Anger at all. As far as whether Brit has stayed true to her style, I'll trust you on that, I sure wouldn't know.

Thats basically what I mean, its still bad but when you compare it to St Anger I guess its ok. I wouldnt know anything really about her other than hearing her singles from past g/fs, and I just know she has stayed true to the poppy sound she has always had.
